  10. Haileyesus Alemu

    High Performance Computing Researcher

    Italy - Tests: 2

I have three years of experience in the Telecommunications industry, as Telecom Network Analyst and Programmer, in Ethiopia. I have worked as a research assistant at the Computer Architecture Group of the University of Siena, Italy, from Dec 1, 2013 - Mar 31, 2014. During this period I was involved in the European Union funded project: TERAFLUX project, www.teraflux.eu. This project proposes a new architecture for emerging manycore/multicore architectures based on the DataFlow Parallel Programming methodology. TERAFLUX is simulated on a full-system simulator called COTSON, provided by HP and AMD. My main responsibility was to assess the performance of the architecture by running and profiling macro benchmarks targeting this architecture. During this period I have used C, C++, and Bash script intensively. Moreover, I have used GDB and Oprofile to debug and profile benchmark suites. Currently, I am working as a Researcher in High Performance Computing Lab in La Spezia, Italy. My main activity is developing software for heterogeneous parallel computing systems. Mainly I use MPI, OPENMP and CUDA as my parallel programming framework. I am available to take on any serial and/or parallel programming project on a part-time basis.
