Last active: 1 month ago
Over 30 years of professional experience as educator, trainer, programmer, copywriter, tester and graphic design, as well as video and music production. In the past years I wrote tutorials, technical descriptions, and lots of training materials. I organised events like festivals, barcamps and conferences. As a certified Teacher, Trainer, Musician and Mediator I started to study Informatics at University with focus on Database Management Systems and elearning.
Since 2002 I develop websites using HTML, DHTML, PHP, Ruby and Rails, Python, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Jquery, Mootools, Scriptacolous, Mobile Apps for iPhone and Android. From 2007 - 2010 I managed the technical part of the UNESCO Bangkok Website and we converted over 5000 Pages, over16000 Content Elements (latin-swedish1) and over 25000 Digital Assets to fit into the newly developed T3Pack template based on TYPO3 using utf8. From 2008 till 2010 I also managed the East West Center Hawaii New Website Projekt based on TYPO3. Tons of separated php applications had to get integrated into TYPO3 and converted to UTF8. As an active community member of the Web Empowerd Church TYPO3 Package I gave supported and we trained people in using TYPO3. For University Rottenburg, the Number 1 University for Christian Church Music in Germany I developed their Websites since 2008. Meanwhile we are running the 3 Generation already based on TYPO3 newest stable Version. 2010 - 2014 I developed all major website releases for the world wide acting dive company Euro Divers and for several smaller dive enterprises like Phi Phi Adventures, Ocean Geo Divers and Seafun Divers. During this time I focused a lot on customer training as my goal is to enable a customer to run his site successfully after I have finished his project. You can find out more about the projects I completed in my portfolio.
Most of my past project were based on TYPO3 and since 2013 also on Drupal, Wordpress and since 2014 on OpenERP. I connected ERP/CRM/HRM etc systems since many with the CMS systems I am using. vTiger, SugarCRM, X2CRM, OpenTabs and now it is mainly OpenERP and Tryton which really fascinates me, like new Python CMS systems like Django CMS or Merengue CMS. I am an active member of the TYPO3, Drupal and OpenERP community with focus on usability for endusers.
My goal is to make building your website and presenting your products online easy. Easy for YOU! Finding the right content Management system to achieve this goal is one problem I will help. Especially for starters it is important that they see what they get while editing. Also usually customers don’t want to waste to much time in figuring out what button belongs to where and has what functionality. My community commitment mainly focusses on having fun with your website instead of the need to ask another developer to help you out of even simple situations, because you are probably using the wrong CMS or used the wrong programmer or consultant ;-)
I train them in SEO and Social Media Marketing. As a certified Montessori Teacher my motto is “Help to do it by myself” also by all my work I do for my customers. Personal contact is very important and I like to get clear description. I developed templates using YAML, Bootstrap 2.3 and 3, Laker and Baker using LESS and SASS. I am familiar with developing sites on our dedicated server in Germany as well as at Digital Ocean, Amazon, Rackspace and other Cloudspaces. As many customers host their websites on shared hosting services I help them to improve their hosting situation with my expertise. I am running and managing several server and virtual server and cloud server instances. I do security checks of websites as it is important for me to deliver our customers a product which is secure, speed optimized (.htaccess, server settings, db settings etc) and optimised for SEO and Social Media Marketing beside being mobile responsive and viewable on mobile devices.
Usually most of the projects I am working on are not coming from Odesk as the customers I have are looking for professionals and not for low and cheap product developers like those from Odesk. This is also one reason why there are not many Odesk hours itself. I simply don’t depend on those Odesk jobs but sometimes enjoy meeting new developers there even real good ones are very rare and very hard to find.
I am seeking opportunities to build and manage websites of all kind. I know that I am not cheap but I can guarantee that I work legally with work permit, a tax number, open source software and if I use licensed products have paid a license fee. I like to cooperate with BSA and I am happy being able to provide my customers a 100% legal product with corporate social responsibility. I am supporting several social and educational projects which gets financed through my projects.
