Mother of 2 and owner of 2 successful businesses. After teaching middle school for over 6 years and getting the businesses up and running, I am spending lots of time at home on my computer. My goal is to use my vast knowledge in a variety of areas to earn some additional income while helping my clients complete their projects and needs in a timely and professional manner. I have held various office positions including transcription, data entry and research. I have personally written proposals for funding, legally defensible reports for clientele and have been a hobby writer of fiction and children's books. I have ghostwritten many types of books including fiction (romance genre and young adult), academic and medical. I excel at editing, proofreading and organizing everything. Life Motto - If something is worth doing, it's worth doing to the best of my ability.
As a woman with interest in many things, I pride myself in having the ability to be very versatile with my writing. I have exceptional knowledge of the English language and a passion for the written word in every sense. I have the innate ability to notice the smallest of grammatical errors and you could say they sort of plague me until they are corrected. Give me the tools and details and I in turn will furnish you with something you won't soon forget. I am very detail oriented. I am knowledgeable in online sales and advertising. I can show you unique if you can give me the chance!
I have been told that in regards to writing projects I am best at blog articles and any piece that is slanted to my personal views and/or perspective along with human interest pieces. I have however, worked on many fact based articles, and done research on products for reviews and many other writing projects that require research. I have done comparison reviews on different products and written news articles as well. I do it all, writing, editing, proofreading, blogging, and news pieces.
Lately I prefer editing and proofreading jobs as they help me to hone my grammar skills further and give me ample opportunity to learn from other writers. I think that reading the best is the best way to become a better writer. I also have a job with Work From Home PROS for whom I am given a topic, word count and sometimes keywords and instructions and I research the topic, write about it to the specifications given to me and move on to the next project with a 20-45min turn around average dependent on depth of research and word count. I am very good at those jobs as well.
A lot of the articles that I write for Work From Home PROS are for websites for businesses, so I am good at helping people sell themselves as well.
I am also currently writing a book, so I understand the effort and emotion that goes into projects like that. If working on a book edit or similar task I make sure to keep my voice out of it and only change what is absolutely necessary unless directly told to make core or creative changes as well.
If chosen I will do everything I can for you. I may ask questions so that I am certain I know exactly what it is you want from me, that way I do not have to waste your time finishing the project and having to redo it because of a minor misunderstanding. No matter the project I follow the exact instructions and put all of myself into the task.
I like to negotiate the price per project with the employer. As every job is different, there is no standard rate, so I try to make sure we both get exactly what we need and agree on an amount fair to both of us. I generally ask $2 per 100 words. However, I am very flexible, more so in an ongoing situation. I openly accept offers for my writing and I consider every single one of them. I also often do job estimates by word count although I am always open to a counter offer. Feel free to tell me what you'd like to pay and maybe we can work something out.
I DO NOT ask for any payment up front, as I believe in being paid once the customer is happy with what I have supplied. However, I do ask that escrow is used and monies are deposited in the escrow account before commencement of work. For larger projects I prefer for milestones to be established and for payment on completion of those agreed milestones.
Prompt payment is appreciated - I'm not a large company after all; it's just me and my bills to pay!
All other terms can be discussed on a case by case basis.
