Ruby on Rails Developer and QA tester with Selenium WebDriver

    United States - Tests: 2 - Portfolio: 2

I am always looking for the opportunity to work at a Startup on a project that I share mutual interest in. I believe in ideation, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and have experience in the process and industry. I am a Rails Developer with an IT background and degree in Project Management from Penn State University. I am skilled at front end design/development in HTML, CSS, etc. and have experience using front-end frameworks such as Twitter Bootstrap. I often work with Heroku and Git, and have a thorough understanding of both. Automated QA is often undervalued. There are numerous benefits associated with implementing a balanced QA approach. My experience with Selenium WebDriver and writing test scripts is an important component of my skill set. I prefer to use RSpec or Nightwatchjs. Check out structurehq.com for more information regarding automated UI testing. I am a great communicator and even better writer. The thought, at the ripe age of 14, was that I'd become a journalist and live my life writing. This has yet to occur, and most likely won't (the money just never seemed like it would suffice an adventurous lifestyle :-] ), however the creative writing skills garnered throughout my lifetime are a marketable asset in their own right; one that I hope may come in handy for you, the client. I am available from morning till night and will always be reachable. I will even work on weekends if notice is given and agreed upon. The Rails community is far reaching and is constantly making substantial contributions, allowing projects of all shapes, sizes, scopes, and characteristics to be tackled in a succinct and methodical manner. Time and money can often be saved when you decide on the Rails framework as the backbone of your project's stack, and I will do all I can to make that a reality. I believe in Test Driven Development(TDD) when/where appropriate, meaning you will be getting a web-app that is built with sound precision and minimal "buggery".
