Last active: 7 days ago
My name is Stephen Michael May. I'm Australian, have lived in Japan for almost 15 years & have a PR Visa. I'm writing to you because I'm very interested in the Technical Translation position. I have extensive experience in translating internal corporate documents such as the minutes of executive board meetings, corporate mission statements/charters, corporate profiles, product brochures & the like. I also have experience in interpreting on-site for foreign guests with plant tours, explaining production processes & line flows as well as liaising with engineers & technical staff on maintenance projects of chemical plants & power generators. My main Translation/Interpreting experience is within the chemical, automotive & construction machinery industries however, I have also been involved with fabrication processes of car components, grease/lubricants & electronics such as PCBs, FPCs & adhesives in mobile phones etc.
I've never missed a deadline to date & have an immaculate record when it comes to paying attention to detail. I enjoy the art of translation & take pride in doing a professional job. I sometimes can be too much of a perfectionist. I'm proactive, a self-starter who is very self-motivated & self-driven. I'm very methodical, systematic & well organised & currently work autonomously which I enjoy a lot but I'm a willing team player when necessary.
To close I'd like to say that I believe that I'm the right person for any Technical Translation Project that may arise & I would like to thank you in advance for your kind consideration in potentially selecting me for any of your future projects.
