To contribute to an organization’s success by putting to work my unusual professional and academic background which uniquely combines: 1) professional experience and academic training in finance, international relations and economics; 2) excellent critical and analytic skills; 3) superior native level language skills in English and Spanish; 4) capacity to write clearly and forcefully on social, economic and political issues; 5) extensive knowledge and life experience of North and South America. I can deliver first-rate services in any of these fields but would be especially valuable providing services or doing projects that require combining two or more of these skills/knowledge.
I have participated in the privatization of State-Owned Enterprises (SOES) (sugar mills and milk processing plants) by doing their valuations and analyzing their financials; calculated the ROI of investment projects such as an administrative unit to handle credit card administrative support; built a financial model of a privately administered pension fund.
I have written several articles and Op-Ed pieces in Spanish in national newspapers in Bolivia on different issues dealing with privatization, pension system reform, relations with Chile, conditional cash transfer programs, how to combat economic slowdowns, and regional and ethnic strife, among others.
