    Cloud Architect/Administrator

    Canada - Last active: 08/14/2014 - Tests: 1

For the past couple of years I have been working mostly in cloud-computing, both with government funded non-profits and as an independent consultant. My consulting work consists mostly of helping companies build their apps to be cloud ready, as well as migrating apps into cloud based services, and managing those apps once they are deployed to the cloud. I have lots of experience with AWS and RackSpace and other OpenStack clouds. Much of my work last year was actually implementing and maintaining cloud provider infrastructure based on OpenStack for various government projects. That experience led me to build my own public cloud based on OpenStack with a storage back end based on a ceph cluster for instance, object and volume storage which I am beginning to sell to my consulting clients in addition to other services I provide for them. Prior to my cloud experience I worked as an IT Director and Senior Systems Admin in conventional IT shops and have plenty of experience in datacenter operations, VMWare based virtualization, switching and routing, full ISP operations including large scale deployments in VoIP based on open source technologies. I would love to have an opportunity to meet with you and discuss how we may be able to work together.

    I built's infrastructure.

    United States - Last active: 10/12/2013 - Tests: 3

I'm googleable( I'm located in Utah, I'm willing to relocate, but strongly prefer not to live in CA/NY and I find I'm most effective when working remotely. I've spent the last 8-ish years working for isoHunt as a sysadmin/systems engineer, with crossover into network administration and purchasing. I was Gary Fung's first hire, I've rebuilt isoHunt's infrastructure from scratch 3 times (server4you, toronto dc, stockholm dc), and I ended up recruiting 3 other staffers. Most of my experience is in administering Gentoo Linux, but I'm also familiar with Debian and .deb/apt based distros (Ubuntu and a few arm/mips releases for embedded equipment). I've worked with: linux kernel (I can compile custom kernels to fit what you're using the machine for) linux-vserver keepalived (managing ipvs) iptables/ipset/iproute2 zebra/quagga JunOS (Juniper J6350) git (use, gitosis/gitolite/github repo management, hooks) svn (administration, use; I prefer git) php (fpm/fcgi configuration - I'm not a developer, even if I can identify bugs) xcache lighttpd nginx (not a fan, but I can make it go) apache2 memcached mogilefs MySQL/Mariadb lvm mdraid grub/grub2/uefi nagios This is an incomplete list. If there's something you'd like to know if I've worked with, feel free to ask. I'm also not limited to the above, I'm willing to learn pretty much anything (and actually have some interest in looking at implementing some newer takes on the above technologies). skype/gtalk/yahoo/freenode: infowolfe

  8. Todd Blackman

    Todd Blackman

    Ruby Software Engineer

    United States - Last active: 09/02/2013 - Tests: 7 - Portfolio: 1

I have been programming for over two decades and most recently have been focusing on MySQL and Ruby development with a strong preference for Rails apps. I have extensive experience developing medium-sized to large maintainable apps using git, test-driven development, and coding toward quality so future developers can get work done fast without having to spend excessive time reverse-engineering badly written software. Other technologies I have used include REST, XML, JSON, sphinx (full-text search), elastic search, Redis, memcached, NetSuite, and mongoDB. As a web developer, it probably goes without saying that I know HTML, CSS, and Javascript (jQuery in most cases). I would be a good fit if you need complex business logic designed and modeled with less of a focus on the visual elements.

I'm a software engineer with over ten years experience with various languages/frameworks and a passion for technology. I've worked for various companies each with distinct software development methodologies (waterfall, agile, etc). I'm a self-starter and detail-oriented. I'm particularly interested in JVM languages but I have experience with many others. I would prefer to work as a backend developer but I've done front end work as well. I'm primarily looking for part time work to supplement my day job. I have a BS and MS in Computer Science and have since then also taken courses online (Mongo Univ, Coursera, Code School).

Passionate software solution architect and developer. Valuable experience in accomplishing various high-load and high-complexity projects. Solid e-commerce and ERP automation background, always up-to-date with efficiency proven technologies. My path to becoming high-skilled software architect and developer went very intensive in the world where growing ease of electronic communication and information exchange changed how the things actually work nowadays. I feel proud and satisfied being involved in the process of this huge leap in online evolution of the last decade. My humble input is just a drop in the ocean, I believe I can put some more drops with the right projects and partners. My primary interest is back-end development of high-load web applications, I have a great experience in developing and maintaining a good range of high-load solutions and implementations: from telecommunication billing to heavy eCommerce solutions. Now the tags part: PosgtreSQL (my favourite DB actually), MySQL, Oracle, NoSQL(Memacached/DB, MongoDB, Redis), PHP 4/5 (5.4+ works for me), git (I have no idea why some guys say it's ugly), hg/svn, profound dig into ZF1.x, Yii, CahePHP, CI, had a glance at things like Kohana, Doctrine.
