United States - Last active: 9 days ago - Tests: 1

I’m a Pennsylvania-based full-stack web developer, so I can implement and integrate your frontend and your backend. Between my degree in Computer Science and Business, employment history, and side projects, I have about 3 years of experience in the areas of: • JavaScript with the jQuery and Backbone frameworks • PHP both stand-alone and with the CodeIgniter and Symfony2 frameworks • Java for both desktop applications and website backends using Tomcat • Databases including ElasticSearch (a NoSQL data store), MySQL, and Oracle • HTML and CSS • Social integration (Facebook Connect, etc.) To learn more about me, you can check out some open-source code that I’ve written on GitHub (https://github.com/danfinnie/) or view the specifics of past work experiences on my resume (http://danfinnie.com/resume) I’m a straight-shooter, no-nonsense type, so get in touch and we’ll see if I’m the right person for you. If I am, great! If I’m not, I’ll let you know and give you some tips on what to search for to find the right guy or gal.

    Senior PHP developer and Architect

    Hungary - Last active: 11 days ago - Tests: 1 - Portfolio: 2

I've come a long way already. Started with PHP development as a freelancer which has been interrupted by some SAS, which was a great experience though. After SAS I came back to PHP and tried to learn everything connected to PHP based web development. After years of learning and practicing somehow I became a leader. Not because of a promotion, but basically because of a need and a willing. As I liked doing that too, I dug myself into the leadership "topic" and tried to get out the maximum of it. I never stopped being a programmer though, as I always liked the challenges of designing a high-load and/or a sophisticated system. I was a developer for a long time, after that I "leveled up" to senior developer which introduced a lot of mentoring tasks in my life. After that I became a team leader which introduced much more responsibilities but also the freedom of decisions. That led me to a Chief Architect position where I was responsible for the systems we were developing and the teams worked on the project. In this role I learned a lot about the communication between different teams and departments. I've learned the short and long term consequences of my decisions, but the most important thing it taught me is how to put trust in your middle managers, what can you expect from them. A few areas I worked and I consider myself experienced in: - Designing scalable systems for high load. - Defining and improving the development processes which includes implementation and Quality Assurance as well - Mentoring/Teaching - Technical lead of a project and/or teams - Development. I'm still an enthusiastic developer. A few keywords I'd like to highlight: PHP , HTML, MySQL, MSSQL, Memcached, Repcached, MogileFS Scalability, CVS, SVN, Mercurial (Hg) Jira, Confluence, Scrum
