    Belarus - Last active: 1 day ago - Tests: 5 - Portfolio: 13

I have over 15 years of work experience with Linux systems. This is the list of software and technologies with which I deal. This list is not full and expands day by day. I always can find right decisions if I found some problems. And I am always interested in looking for mostly economical and productive solutions. Of course, Cpanel, WHM, Webmin, Plesk .... I know how are working these web-wrappers and I support their. I can will tune and to make the checking of these wrappers. But that more important !! I can work without this))) Directly use configuration files of services and etc etc. Usually, it is better way on dedicated servers. ) TCP, IPv4 , IPv6, IPX ... - WiFi, WEP, WPA, WPA2 ... - SElinux, Apparmor, Smack, Tomoyo ... - LAMP ( Apache, Nginx, PHP, Perl, Mysql, Mongo), REDMINE ... - Cpanel, Zpanel, ISP ... - MySQL clustering and replication DNS servers ... - SENDMAIL, EXIM, POSTFIX (POSTFIXADMIN,MYSQL,DOVECOT,POLICYD) ... - HPC system: Torque, Maui, Moab for HPC clusters, Infiniband, FC interconnect, iSCSI, SCST, DRBD, OFED, OPENMPI ... - OpenLDAP ... - VPN with OpenVPN, PPTP, StrongVPN ... - Nagios, Zabbix, Ganglia, OSSEC ... - SVN, CVS, GIT ... - KVM, Xen, OpenStack, Proxmox ... - NBD, RAID, LVM ... etc etc During these years I have been in a large number of tasks related to administration of network devices, as well as with simple and complex server systems. I manage servers for the HPC tasks and for network infrastructure of Internet and Intranet - DNS,DHCP,*FTP,HTTP(S),MAIL etc etc. The main goals - the monitoring of the performance and the security. I also implement tasks of data backup and troubleshooting, support for the users. I have comprehensive work skills with systems based on Debian, Redhat, CentOS, SLES, OpenSuse. I've got more than 8 years of experience in developing the different software with use of C, Perl, Python, Bash, HTML on system and user levels. For example, very important skill in developing and the modification of RPM packages (rpmbuild, rebuild, kernels), custom kernels and etc etc. How the standart service for VPS's and VDS's projects and dedicated servers: IDS, IPS, the control of contents of log's files, the control of load of the cpu, the memory, the hard disks; the backups of the databases and the files; install or update software, consultations. Emergency call via sms to cell phone. STOP Windows and U/K/buntu etc. TIPS WITHOUT PAYMENT: =============== 1. VERY OFFTEN: IF YOURS WP WAS HACKED 1. disable plugins 2. execute # diff -r dir1 dir2 3. repeat for plugins if you have last version of WP code: ~ 80% cases - problems: plugin low quality (look on author: from where and who is) ~ 15% cases - problems: theme low quality (look on author: from where and who is) ~ 5% 0day of WP also you need disable all shell function in php and enable suphp/suexec modes. =============== 2. I am getting a lot questions about reliability and quality distributives/clones Ubuntu. Results on practice - Ubuntu clones - worst for server. It is truth. If you $buntu guy, I can't help you right now. I only can recommend Debian way for server. =============== 3. Nginx of course is good program. For small/middle vps. But in serious projects - apache. Nginx will be suitable for frontend. It is only practice. Always for all web application should be mod_security module. Firewall of level of web application on 7 level of OSI. Each web application/site should be under own user in environment of vps or on dedicated servers. =============== etc etc Sunday - day of rest. Or in emergency case - payment with double rate. best regards, Andrei odesk.by / upwork.link PS: With love from USSR. ;-)

    Senior Networks/System Engineer

    Greece - Last active: 01/29/2014 - Tests: 8

Starting in 1994, when internet was a horrified 80x25 text character terminal, I had the chance to go through the late 90s internet-boom and the Web 2.0 era. Since then, with over 15 years of experience dealing with large telecommunications companies, Internet Service Providers and data centers, I had the opportunity to work on several cutting-edge IT projects and their associated systems and network implementations. I specialize in Linux and UNIX systems setup and administration at low level (shell) that includes installation, configuration, optimization and monitoring of the operating system and its accompanied application services and protocols such as apache/http, bind/dns, MySQL, sendmail/postfix /smtp, imap/pop3 etc. Also, at the network layer, I've designed and implemented routers based on Linux and/or CISCO platforms offering networking services from simple IPv4/IPv6 routing and its related technologies and protocols (RIP, OSPF, BGP) to more complex network services such as layer 3-7 firewalls, Intrusion Prevention & Detection Systems, VPNs, VoIP & QoS, monitoring, auditing, troubleshooting, security assessments etc. In the recent years of the cloud infrastructure technology, I learnt to deal with XEN and VMware Hypervisors while configuring hardware and software to provide IaaS and SaaS in virtualized environments.

I want to help organizations and individuals realize their vision by helping them build their systems and applications. I'm a senior developer, systems/network engineer, solutions architect, and project manager with over 17 years experience in the information and communication technology industry. I've held top management & technology leadership positions in several startup ventures in the field of operating systems & virtualization, mobile technologies, systems integration, and business applications. Two have been acquired at an early stage. I've recently worked as CEO for an offshore development & design outsourcing firm from Israel focused on web & mobile technologies and as CTO for a startup social gaming firm from Canada where I work hands-on with technology while mentoring small but growing teams. I've also led larger technology groups with over a hundred people sometimes from distributed locations. I've developed custom systems directly used by customers & end users. I've also developed systems as a subcontractor and publisher. My most recent projects include an emergency app on the Nokia Store, a geo-social app & a geo/social game on the Android Market, a JavaME app for a celebrity gossip magazine, a mobile/web ordering & delivery tracking system, and a web/mobile rock paper scissors tournament game. I've started my IT inclination as a computer enthusiast way back in college where I took on computer assembly and repair jobs as well as data encoding and desktop publishing to finance my education. Eventually, I learned programming in Turbo Pascal, Turbo C, DBase III+, and Foxpro/Clipper and took on small projects building software applications and database applications such as POS, inventory, and rental systems. Over the years, I kept myself updated with the changing trends and technologies, familiarize myself with new tools, methodologies & practices, and seek opportunities to utilize what I've learned commercially. I've setup systems for small businesses, small ISPs, and more recently small call centers during my spare time. All while playing a key role in the projects or companies I worked for.

My purpose is to lead, strategize, guide, direct and architect problem resolutions for individuals and organizations using self-sustainable philosophy and decision-making, in order to establish complete systems and processes of solutions that work. My vision is to ensure in every household, institution or establishment, intuitive and organic integration of real-time problem-solving becomes second-nature to the operating environment. I intend to achieve this using my unparalleled knowledge and application of the Synergy between Business Intelligence, Technical Excellence and Organic Sustainability. In other words, I solve problems, using fundamental building blocks that most people and organizations overlook, yielding solutions that can adapt to their environment in real-time. Problem-solving processing can lead multiple resolutions to several problems whereas "a solution" to a problem itself only, usually yields a new problem that need be solved with other solution(s) which may or may not be found within the given scope. This cycle can be vicious and critical but is easily overcome by what we call the "Process" or "Spiral" at Don Sigma Corp. This so-called "Spiral" allows us to solve problems that solve other problems by drawing Synergy between resolutions and fundamental building blocks. With this know-how and several other particulates of Don Sigma Corp.'s unique knowledge and technology at my disposal, you're just a contact away from experiencing your dreams come true.
