Lover of tedium and creating efficient methods to tackle it

    United States - Tests: 1

Make use of me! I've worked around computers for 14 years and know them pretty well. My peak WPM is 130. I've developed websites, coded web games and apps [though that was years ago], created "plugins" for websites in JavaScript and PHP to do really, really intricate stuff that is really hard to describe! I also love correcting grammar and spelling [never mind the fact that I use a very colloquial tone in this description]. I've worked with graphic artists in the past, and realize that I am the only person who knows more about Adobe Photoshop and how to use it than anyone else I know. I've drawn all my life, so I also have decent illustration skills. More or less, I am a jack of all trades, and a master of very, very few. I'm currently researching Python and Unity in order to get started on creating games, but I've found myself spending my spare time playing a genre of game which essentially aims to simply make numbers bigger. That is the essence of pretty much every game ever made, and it is quite tedious and I find myself loving it. By all means, let me handle your reformatting of thousands of lines of text! I'll see if I can automate any part of it! Spreadsheets wonky? I'll unwonk the heck out of them! Scraping webpages? I don't officially condone collecting others' works for your own commercial endeavors, but I can do it expediently.

Instructional Designer | Scriptwriter | Articulate Storyline Developer

    United States - Tests: 3 - Portfolio: 2

Storytelling is my cause-- and I believe stories make for fantastic learning. Strong skill transfer depends on opportunities for practice, which stories provide. As an instructional designer and writer, my favorite techniques are story-based: scenarios, case studies, and examples. Whatever the subject matter, the goal is to make content applicable, not abstract, and stories have a unique power to make this possible. Five years of professional experience as a instructional designer and creative writer have lead me to an approach which incorporates proven learning strategies while remaining relevant, respectful and useful to the learner. I believe in meeting a project wherever it happens to be-- in terms of audience, complexity, and budget-- and using ingenuity to make it as creative and engaging as possible, balancing feasibility with inspiration with the help of my trusty license for Articulate Storyline 2.
