    United Kingdom - Last active: 19 days ago - Tests: 3 - Portfolio: 3

ODesk / Elance preferred No 1 English Coldfusion Developer... Are you looking for value and quality? Then I'm your guy. I am a Senior Coldfusion Developer with 13 years experience and am also the creator of Fusemox (http://fusemox.com) - a lite Coldfusion framework that helps small-medium businesses and developers set up a well structured website quickly and with ease. I have been developing web applications primarily in Coldfusion for more than 13 years. I have a strong technical background as well as a keen eye for design which is unusual for a software engineer. My strongest skills are Coldfusion and Railo, Fusebox, MySql, XHTML and JQuery. I also have a good background in ASP.NET (C#) and SQL Server.I am self sufficient and a focused and efficient worker. I also have excellent communication skills. My strong front-end and back-end experience should make me a great addition to any web development team. I have spent the last 10 years as a full time employee, with the last 6 as the development lead and architect at a development house that did work for a government agency as well as other big corporates. I have since decided to get out of the rat race and work on a freelance basis which allows me more freedom and also allows me to gain more experience and a broader range of skills.

Developer (PHP, ColdFusion, C#, .NET, MVC3, HTML5, jQuery, Sitefinity)

United States - Last active: 15 hours ago - Tests: 3

Since 1998, I have done a wide range of web development and have used many technologies (C++, Perl, VB, VB.NET, C#, ASP, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC2, ASP.NET MVC3, SQL, PL SQL, T-SQL, ColdFusion [CFML], PHP, ActionScript). I have also used many tools from Flash, Fireworks, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Eclipse, and Visual Studio. My core skill set lies in problem solving and creating solutions to solve problems in the most efficient (time, budget, and quality) way. I enjoy development and do so in my free time. I use that time to explore new topics that look interesting and to expand my knowledge on existing topics. I have a unique work experience and understand not only coding but also network and server implementations (being a system administrator). I have experience integrating technologies to fulfill requirements or solve limitations of technologies. An example of this I can provide is a solution I did for a client. The solution involved ColdFusion, SQL Server 2005, and ASP.NET Web Services. Due to specific security requirements and limitations of interoperability of ColdFusion 7 and ASP.NET I developed SQL Server CLR Functions and Procedures that invoke web services and return structured data to ColdFusion. From a CF developer perspective all you do is call a stored procedure or execute a cfquery call. The DBMS server does the rest and because it has the ability to use the .NET language I was able to invoke custom services that had very specific security requirements. This solution has been in place for three years now and has not had any issues with this method. I have also used different technologies to handle things like encryption for PCI compliance. I worked with a client to build a custom transactional processing system that utilized C++, Java, SQL Server, PHP, and ColdFusion. The end result is a distributed secure system that handles all payment processing for this client (Web and Internal). This solution also required an understanding of Firewalls, IDS, and how to combine technologies so they would work together seamlessly. If you're looking for a developer who can research options, architect solutions, develop and document, I am an excellent choice and look forward to working with you.

I like challenges. I prefer Microsoft ASP and ASP.net programming, but I'm the guy who tackles things that I've never seen before. The guy who walked into a company that developed their own proprietary language system based off Python (why? Because they could I suppose) that was similar to PHP, and picked it up and was developing applications and solving bugs on my second day. I'm the guy who walked into the JSP shop and learned on the fly and was interfacing with EJB's on day 3 (day 2 was administering websphere). Languages come easy to me, and coding comes natural. I wear a lot of hats. You might be able to see that from my experience, but I have a hand and knowledge in a lot of different areas. I can administer a database just as well as I can script middleware for an e-commerce platform, and those just as well as I can make the front-end work in cross browser HTML and look good. I like this because I'm not necessarily stuck doing the same thing day in and day out. Big Scary Projects don't scare me. I've developed government accounting systems that involved more red tape than should be legal, and scripted websites that are now the center for their respective company's customer approach. The thrill in each of these projects was the complexity, and being able to see the big picture and making it all come together piece by piece. I laugh. I think personally that this is something that is more important than the other three I listed above. The world doesn't get me down, and stress doesn't make me crazy. I know how to diffuse tension, and can communicate well with other people, including bosses, direct reports, and co-workers. Specialties • 14 years hands-on experience in admin, development, and management. • System Development Life Cycle – all phases. • Created e-commerce platforms that currently take in 5 million in annual revenue. • Planned and administered million dollar annual budgets. • Researched and managed projects with 2 week scopes to 1 year timelines.
