Multifaceted Virtual Assistant. Business support branch

    Sweden - Last active: 16 days ago - Tests: 17 - Portfolio: 4

My previous line of work led to the start of a VA business. My goal is to work with what I like and keep up the trend of various tasks. The rate described is my lowest rate, which I usually apply because I sometimes like to do assignments to keep my skills at a recent level, and then that rate apply. On the other hand could other duties require a higher rate. My VA role is one of the multi-skilled, or multifaceted as I use for marketing since I've learned a lot of different skills during the positions I held. I'm very service minded, as I started out as a cashier and office girl and had the privilege to work with people with genuine feeling for service. I find it likable and I also think it makes sense to keep a service minded attitude towards customers. If you see someone without a smile - give them one of your kind of recaps what service is. Additionally to the service offered in the line of work, that is. Later on I've for several years each, held positions as sales secretary, school secretary, administrative consultant, application specialist and web/system developer. Besides having extensive work experience, the studying of sociology, psychology and computer science at an academic level constitutes useful knowledge. Still today I feel at home in almost any constellation of work, I like to do repetitive tasks from time to time, and challenging tasks from time to time. Work satisfaction is important to me, and it means delivering good results, to be of benefit to the receiver. For myself the help and learn part goes a long way. One other thing to mention is that I learned to type at an early age. That skill has been both useful and fun during the years. Besides skills in service and typing, I'm interested in languages, both human and computer. Regarding human language, I write with a fine imagination, do my research and have a splendid vocabulary. Regarding computers, I like to make life easier for end users, and I also focus on usability. Regarding both languages, I also like to enhance the experience for the reader/user. Oh, I nearly forgot (if you're still reading this short essay that is), I also do some graphic designs from time to time. Web design, Logo designs, Business Cards, Newsletter, formatting in Word, layouts in PowerPoint and so on! We need beautiful things! Cheers!

Professional. Dependable. Personal. You deal direct with me, so there are no middlemen, no distributed teams, and no missed deadlines! I can take your book from “good” to “great”. I can write web site words that work. And I do deliver! Don’t take my word for it; listen to what others have to say: “I never had to worry about the quality and delivery times.” “I can tell you if Tony makes you a promise, he keeps it.” “He is responsive, extremely good at what he does, a pleasure to work with.” "If you need a great writer who is smart and a pleasure to work with, look no further." While some other Upworkers rate their own writing, editing, and publishing prowess, I have consistently tested in the top 10% (often higher) for specific skills here on Upwork. ARE YOU WRITING AND / OR PUBLISHING A BOOK? Try searching for the following books on Amazon.com, to see just a few of the books that I helped take from “good” to “great” as the editor and / or book designer (depending on the book). Note the nice reviews ;-) The Emotionally Intelligent Investor by Ravee Mehta Love Food that Loves You Back by Dorothy Holtermann Ultimate Gastric Sleeve Success by Dr. Vuong Unintentionally Celibate by Olive B Persimmon I help authors takes their embryonic manuscripts all the way to Amazon in print (usually via CreateSpace) and Kindle formats, from developmental editing all the way to final formatting. Other providers may (or may not) be able to write grammatically good English, but do they also have a real "way with words" to tell your story? DO YOU PUBLISH A WEB SITE, BLOG OR MAGAZINE? I have worked with web site owners (more details on request) and have regularly been commissioned by the likes of Barclays Stockbrokers, Microsoft, and other leading companies to provide very accessible educational content. I have written feature articles and article series for financial journals such as The Motley Fool and SpreadBet Magazine, and feature articles for IT magazines such as The Java Developers’ Journal and C#-Today. Not to mention my contributions to a blog about erectile dysfunction (don’t laugh). As an editor I have helped many authors get their articles, dissertations, web content and book manuscripts into good shape with good English... whether British or American. WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT MY BACKGROUND? Before becoming an independent Word wordsmith and self-publishing guru (yes, really) here on Upwork, I was published by traditional publishers including John Wiley & Sons (academic and technical), Wrox Press (IT) and Harriman House (business and finance). In former lives I have been an IT consultancy practice manager, an Associate Lecturer with the UK’s Open University, and a private stock trader. And I was once in a band that you'll never have heard of! HOW WILL I WORK WITH YOU? I will do exactly what I say I will do, when I say I will do it. I won't even pitch for your project if I don't think I can do it, so you can be confident that you won't have to go elsewhere to "finish the job" or to put right what I have done wrong. Like I said at the start: you deal direct with me, so there are no middlemen, no distributed teams, and no missed deadlines! Actually, I'm fairly picky about the projects I pitch for, and I only take one or two significant jobs at a time that I think are "right up my street". Your project is important, so you should be picky too, and I hope you pick me as your perfect partner. Professional. Dependable. Personal. That's me :-)

    Game Designer and Project Manager

    Turkey - Last active: 2 days ago - Tests: 4 - Portfolio: 12

I'm a creative problem solver with a strong vision, and I excel at communicating my ideas. I have designed various games for Facebook and mobile devices: puzzle, arcade, educational, gambling, farming, etc. I am experienced with monetization, virality, retention, and community engagement. WebGL developer and Software Engineer with VR experience

United States - Last active: 2 months ago - Tests: 4

My recent work (read: the past 3+ years) has been entirely based in webGL - mostly with 3D models and environments, but also some particle effects. I can work in a number of languages however - and am most familiar with C, C++, GLSL, Java, Python, PHP and Javascript. As a web designer I'm familiar with WebGL implementations, e-commerce, and mySQL database work. I was most recently employed by a virtual reality lab before cuts in funding terminated my position. While there I worked with an accelerometer-based glove apparatus, learned about VR theory and methods of application, worked with a unity-like engine, and modeled in 3DStudioMax and Maya. I was also involved the various upkeep and troubleshooting needs of a VR-capable network of nodes and projectors.
