Linux admin / Backend developer (17 years of experience)

    Bulgaria - Tests: 16 - Portfolio: 9

To describe myself using eight words: I am a problem solver with extensive experience. As a Linux server administrator (since 2009), I configured and partly now maintaining servers for wm4d.com, datamojo.com, call2ru.com, serviskart.ru and other companies (more than 20 servers including VPSes). Also, I consult clients and colleagues on a wide range of questions related to web development and system administration. Since 1998 till 2009 I used to work as a programmer, participated in a variety of projects including Plesk for Linux. (So, I dealt with PHP3/4/5, Perl, bash, Java (J2EE), Pascal, C, JS; I know design patterns, test-driven development, agile methodologies and so on, and so forth.) During the summer of 2011 I took part in selection of the staff for one company (testing candidates' knowledge of PHP5, OOP, MySQL et cetera; more than 1000 candidates). If you need to develop a UI part (JavaScript/HTML/CSS), I am not the right person. And despite the fact that I know PHP I don't want to use it anymore. Now I am learning Python and Ruby.

+5 years exp in hosting industry; NIX/WIN servers config/tuning

    Ukraine - Tests: 10 - Portfolio: 1

During the last 5 years I have been working in a company that provides a full range of hosting tech support. What does this mean? - quick and complete resolution of your problem. Why quick? - because a customer wants their site to be up and running 99.9% of the time. Why complete? - because if the issue is half-fixed now it may arise in the future and the customer will have to move to another provider who can solve the problem (you know hosting is a highly-competitive marketplace). All these factors are forcing me to have (or gain as fast as possible) a wide range of knowledge in system administration, programming, code debugging and customer relationship.
