Russia - Last active: 22 days ago - Tests: 7

I am Senior network engineer/Architect searching job at free time (usually few hours/day). Now i am working at Cisco/Juniper Partner in System Integration Company. I have built projects for ISP: IP and/or IP/MPLS networks from small provider (up to 700 users, pure IP/L2) to nationwide backbone and broadband networks (IP/MPLS Core with BGP and complex TE, B-RAs). All the MPLS services: Internet, L3VPN, VPLS, L2VPN, mVPN; including InterAS and CsC cases. Participate on all project stages from presale (equipment choose and design) to implementation and documenting, and further high-level support for networks, usually remote. I know in detail and have big practice of various network technologies: Routing: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS, LDP, RSVP TE, NAT (all cases) VPN: MPLS VPN, GRE (PPTP, DMVPN), IPSEC Security: Firewall - Cisco PIX/ASA, Juniper SRX access-lists/filters - CBAC/ZBF QoS: can develop and deploy you traffic classes, implement marking and queuing and shaping, policies and your needs, including multi-color policers. Deploying different main and complementary services for ISP on UNIX/Linux/Solaris/Windows platforms, including virtualized ones: DHCP, DNS, Radius, Tacacs+, Mail, HTTP servers, SNMP, j/netflow collecting, integration with billing systems, MySQL and other. Big experience in automation: building different monitoring, configuration, self-healing scripts also for large amount of devices using multitasking. Bash, Perl scripting Have big experience in Cisco/Juniper product line from small routers to top line (CRS/TX Matrix). Also know and have practice of using many network hardware vendors (Extreme/Foundry/Dlink/Zyxel/Huawei). Programming experience: Perl (many scripting mainly on UNIX), PHP (made full project for university for student contract system, using MySQL, Javascript also), Shell scripting - bash, awk, sed, beginning to learn Python, C/C++ - some small application and system programming, MFC (Microsoft Foundation Classes), can easily modify program code. Also have experience in Windows administration AD deploying till W2003. Huge experience of user support. The rate can be lower if project topic is interesting for me but i don't have corresponding experience for it. I am taking full responsibility of my work. Have strong tradition to make documentation on my work. If you have big projects, which requires presence in the site we can discuss it.

+5 years exp in hosting industry; NIX/WIN servers config/tuning

    Ukraine - Last active: 03/29/2012 - Tests: 10 - Portfolio: 1

During the last 5 years I have been working in a company that provides a full range of hosting tech support. What does this mean? - quick and complete resolution of your problem. Why quick? - because a customer wants their site to be up and running 99.9% of the time. Why complete? - because if the issue is half-fixed now it may arise in the future and the customer will have to move to another provider who can solve the problem (you know hosting is a highly-competitive marketplace). All these factors are forcing me to have (or gain as fast as possible) a wide range of knowledge in system administration, programming, code debugging and customer relationship.

First thing off: I DON'T USE SKYPE nor ICQ (as they are proprietary closed protocols), but I have jabber. 20 years of experience with almost every flavour of industrial unixen, portable programming (C-99, POSIX, autotools), portable shell programming (POSIX.2) — dealt with many subtleties in different implementations. I work fast, if in doubt, ask for the estimate time. Probably it'll be cheaper than hiring someone with lower rate, but who'll spend several times more hours. I'm honest, reliable and tenacious. If I apply, that means that I'm 100% sure I can do the job meeting my high quality standards. The code must “just work”, elegant and concise. There's too much non-working, ugly and bloated stuff around:( Lifetime warranty for my work (doesn't include new features though). • Automating everything • UNIX system programming including embedded systems • Web scraping and any other text transformations/extractions. • Consulting about UNIX shell scripting (bourne shell, bash, awk, sed, [BE]RE etc). • Anyway, the list is not full, as I have experience ranging from Jenkins CI setups and maintenance to writing parsers with lex/yacc. From IP traffic handling in C++ (libnetfilter_queue plus iptables custom kernel module) to product installers. I use Gentoo and EMACS. PS. oDesk thinks my photo isn't “professional”. Therefore I have none. I'm easily googlable though, and if you want you can find any information about me outside of oDesk. PPS. Aquila non captat muscas. Normally.
