Scientific and Cloud Computing Expert, Web Developer
I am a business-oriented computational physicist with a strong background and over 20 years of experience in scientific and research computing, cloud computing, and web-based technologies.
I have a PhD in computational physics focusing on modelling the interaction of light and matter (photoemission process). My academic research resulted in 25 international peer-reviewed scientific publications, including two prestigious Physical Review Letters publications.
I have worked both in academia (Northeastern University, Harvard
University) and in the private sector (TotalView Technologies). I am
deeply familiar with and have programmed for myriad platforms
including Linux/Unix workstations and servers, Linux HPC clusters,
Amazon AWS cloud, and IBM Bluegene and CRAY XC supercomputers, ranging
from operation system level debugging, and systems administration to
programming complex scientific parallel computing codes for these
I am currently running my own small business (Pilvi Computing Inc)
that focuses on high-performance computing, cloud computing (Amazon
AWS), website development, and general IT services. In this role my company has created e.g. a 'HPC computing in the cloud' product, where I leveraged and managed/administered all details related to LAMP (Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP) stack, linux/CentOS/Redhat, MySQL, Amazon AWS/EC2/Cloudformation, shell scripting (csh/bash), PHP, HTML, CSS, Python, Perl, Java, etc. My company has also created a scabalable and redundant cloud based website+database solution for a start-up client leveraging Amazon AWS CloudFormation, EC2, RDS etc.
I am looking forward to working on and solving complex problems in the fields of scientific computing, parallel computing, high-performance computing, performance optimization, code debugging, cloud computing, etc. I am also happy to help you with your IT needs (including both creation and on-going management needs) related to web site development, domain hosting, email hosting, online store creation (e.g. Shopify), basic SEO (search engine optimization), Google AdWords campaigns, etc.
