    Expert Python/C Software Engineer

Russia - Last active: 4 days ago - Tests: 10

I'm an expert software engineer with 8+ years of experience. My languages of choice are Python, C and Go. Other languages I had experience with are C++, Java, Scheme, Javascript (with Node.js), Perl, PHP. My main expertise is building highly available and efficient backends for high-traffic applications that handle hundreds and thousands requests per second. I'm in sympathy to OSS ideas and have contributed to a wide range of open source projects – VLC, Git, Nginx, Django, GDB, etc. I'm interested in distributed, concurrent and fault-tolerant systems. Currently I'm reading SICP and solving exercises from this great book. Source code for solved exercises is also available on my Github page.

Poland - Last active: 11 hours ago - Tests: 2

While studying sound engineering & acoustics and being a passionate programmer, so far I've developed some desktop apps(Java/JNI/C/C++) and one applet (Java & SQL), mainly based on speech intelligibility tests and designed for hearing impairment diagnostics & hearing aids fitting/comparison.My other software was for doing some extensive signal processing (for example, spatial filtering & beamforming with multichannel recordings ~ for my bachelors degree in acoustics) and other custom manipulation on audio data (C#, Matlab), but ~sound~ is not my only point of interrest. I like to code tricky stuff, not only sound-focused, and I'm familiar with other areas & API's like Qt, Direct3D, DirectSound, OpenGL, OpenAL, winmm or nvidia CUDA, so far due to my home-alone, hobby-oriented, non-commercial experiences. Always wanted to develop games/scientific applications/utils, but I'm open for any offer that could make the world a better place ;)

    javascript/python/perl developer

Russia - Last active: 4 days ago - Tests: 8

I'm a developer with 15-year experience of writing various web-applications (Perl, Python, Javascript, both front- and backend) and scientific research in computational physics (PhD, molecular dynamics simulation of condensed matter). For last several years I'm a CTO in one of the largest real estate agencies (~500 employees) in St.-Petersburg, Russia, where I both write code, supervise IT staff and communicate with company's contractors. I have solid experience in writing technical requirements, task decomposition, database architecture design, system administration and writing code that makes all these things work together; I'm also an experienced troubleshooter. In particular, I have written a CRM and reporting system (Python, Javascript) that is currently used as a basis for all business processes in the company; I've authored a solution for regular estate advertising (Perl) on a number of magazines and web-sites that works 24x7 for last 8 years. During last several years I have also completed several websites as a freelancer. This includes a platform for Russian-speaking scientists online seminar (elektron2000.com), a show case for the jewel shop (auroragold.ru) and a show case for new buildings projects in St.-Petersburg (novoe.ecoton.spb.ru). Also I have a few tiny open source projects (mostly Javascript) that can be found at my GitHub (https://github.com/vne).

    Russia - Last active: 5 days ago - Tests: 4 - Portfolio: 1

I've used to work for Oracle Inc. creating the Java Development Kit and I'm have made more commits to the JDK9 project than anybody else. My main focus was to deliver Java port for Mac OS X, so I have great experience both with Java and with Objective-C. I've been an intern in Howard Hughes Medical Institute in USA, making math and predictive models for the neuroscience institution. I have 2 higher degrees: master in Computer Science and bachelor in Economics, both finished with the highest possible grade. A while ago I've lost satisfaction with the job at Oracle and decided to become a freelancer. My aim here is to find interesting tasks and solve them.

Creation of complex systems from scratch

Russia - Last active: 1 day ago - Tests: 5

I am working as a web developer for about 10 years. I have started with small freelance tasks and ended with complex web projects. I believe my strong point is ability to understand other's code. I have done many freelance projects involving modification of working projects and that required deep study of code that has been written before. Such a work usually harder than writing a project from zero. I also have wrote from zero two complex CMS with Perl+Mojolicious. One of my large achievements is a complex site written on Perl for a non-commercial international organization (see in portfolio). Last three years I am working on a large online magazine with elements of social network. This requires understanding of Perl, fastCGI, HTML, MySQL. I am constantly implementing new features and fixing bugs that remained from old programmers. I prefer writing in Perl, though I understand PHP and have done many projects with this language. Listed below are my skills: — MySQL — Perl — Mojolicious — PHP/HTML/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery — Nginx configuration — Basics of Linux — dotCloud and other PaaS deployment
