    User Experience Designer

    United States - Last active: 08/22/2014 - Tests: 2 - Portfolio: 2

Working to put the human experience first. Developing solutions to make it better. -------------- I specialize in increasing user and customer engagement by understanding their needs and building responsive digital and physical products. I'm always excited about new projects so give me a call or shoot me an email to get started! More info on my website (http://www.desandoval.net) and below... About Me -------------- During my undergraduate education, I have become enveloped in the study of human computer interaction. Through my studies in mathematics, software development, and design, I have found that ubiquitous computing will lead to success in art, science, and education. I am currently pursuing the connection between computers and collaboration by creating usable interfaces, intelligent systems, and human centered designs. People use digital artifacts every day. Those that are significant are ones that provide practical and navigable solutions to problems provided by their users. While pursuing a career in Human Centered Design and Engineering, I hope to understand these needs so that I may properly connect information with those who wish to use it. Skills -------------- In my academic experiences, class discussions have fueled my interest in information. As an active participant during in-class lectures, dialogues, and brainstorming sessions, I have become dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge. In facing my academic and professional goals, many challenges will have to be approached with a dynamic set of solutions. My skills in collaboration, conversation, and technical writing have provided me with a strong foundation to continue towards my goal of creating experiences with accessible information. I am currently gaining experience with research methods and statistical analysis in my coursework and an on-campus research group. I am excited to see how corporate approaches to research methods compare and contrast with those I am learning in theory and practice. My current experience in technical support has given me a user-oriented perspective to design and communication. By continuing to investigate users of technology, I will be better able to create user-focused solutions in my academic and professional career. Aspirations -------------- I consider myself to be a creative individual. My music, writing, and software applications provide me with alternative ways to communicate my understanding of the world. I hope to develop these interests during my time spent at UW. At the same time, I want to continue my involvement in its educational and cultural communities. In Seattle, I have become accustomed to a society formed by many perspectives. By better understanding of the world around me, I have become prepared for a future in business, art, or academia. I am excited to complete my formal education as it will change the way I think. An education at University of Washington has provided me with knowledge, perspective, and an opportunity to unleash my creative potential. I hope to continue to find similar avenues of self-expression in the professional world.

  3. Niels Kijf

    Niels Kijf

Dutch User Experience Designer and Visual Designer

    Netherlands - Last active: 9 days ago - Tests: 2 - Portfolio: 1

Niels Kijf is a Dutch interactive media entrepreneur born in Leiden (The Netherlands). He has a master degree in Digital Media Design, HKU (collaboration with University of Portsmouth, UK) and lives in Amsterdam. He co-owned, and was creative director for the interactive media studio Sense Studios for 9 years. The ambition for something new resulted in the logical step towards being a freelance entrepreneur as Digital innovator, User Experience Designer & Visual Designer at the end of 2011. After a period of almost three years, working for Sid Lee, Loveurope, Koen and Sanoma digital it’s time for the next step. This winter (2014) he is setting up his Concept thinking shop in Ibiza, feel free to contact him. He has pure passion developing and creating engaging and uncluttered Concepts / User Experience Designs and has uncommon ability to Visual Design these ideas as well. Vision Internet asks way to much repetitive input from it's users, it does not support us in our task completion. The effort / result balance -in my opinion- is lacking enormously. Think about your last holiday search for example, how much time did you spend before you booked? Google Now, Siri, Cortana will be -to some extend- be the answer, but I believe interfacing with the internet needs a new generation of interaction. We need a new visual UI principle, especially on mobile / wearables which brings the content of our communication and all our favorites apps in a streamlined contextual fashion in seam with our daily lives. Not only consuming passive information, but also interaction with systems and people. Preferably a solution which will reduce the staring at screens throughout the day. Agree? Feel free to contact me. Words that describe me best : Quality & Expetise · Reliable · Efficiency & Workflow · Digital innovator · Humor · Focus & Passion Concept Thinking User Experience Design (UX) User Interface design for Desktop, iPad, Mobile (UI) Interaction Design (Wireframes / ID / Mockups / Prototypes) Visual Design (Desktop, iPad, Mobile) Brand Identity

Professional Product Manager with 16 years’ experience in the software industry. I'm a professional Software and SaaS Product Manager who has a passion for technology, team dynamics, and delivering high quality, on time projects that delight. Although, there are many different types of development methodologies I have found that using Scrum Agile provides the best way to define project scope, reduce risk, and deliver against project goals and timelines. I've spent the last five years participating in Scrum as a Product Owner and Scrum Master and have implemented and trained teams to use the method successfully. Much of my software and SaaS experience has been with a large multi-national company focusing on CRM, working across a broad range of technologies and solutions inlcuding: Windows, Web, Mobile, Social Media Integration, and now have decided to give freelancing a try.

    Web Designer, Graphic Designer

    Netherlands - Last active: 05/05/2014 - Tests: 2 - Portfolio: 1

Six years ago I started building websites for fun in HTML, never knowing the impact this has right now in the market. I slowly started learning more HTML which then developed to XHTML. Couple of years later I also started following classes about HTML5, CSS, Javascript, jQuery along with many other design subjects like Brainstorming, Concept Development, Sketching, Interaction Design, Wireframes and User Interface Design. I consider my design skills well above average and I enjoy doing the design work a lot. Right now I'm studying for my Bachelors Degree and working at a startup company Skempi (www.skempi.com), which will launch this summer. I'm currently looking for exciting short-term Web and/or Graphic Design jobs to gain more experience, grow my network and support myself financially.

    Zeb Rainone

    Marketing, Design, Editorial professional

United States - Last active: 12/17/2013

I have a diverse background and a widely transferable skillset that make it possible for me to apply for many different kinds of jobs. I am currently looking for freelance opportunities to fill my schedule, make some money (obviously), and add to my overall knowledge and experience. I am an experienced graphic designer, particularly in the areas of website design, user experience/user interface (UX/UI), illustration, and marketing/advertising materials such as emails, banners, and various promotional materials. I have managed large-scale email "blasts" using popular systems such as ExactTarget and Eloqua, and I have designed effective emails with high click-through rates and successful delivery to prospect inboxes (vs. SPAM folders, for example). I am also a natural and experienced writer/editor/proofreader. In many ways, my overall editorial skills and my ability to make virtually any piece of writing sound better (for a variety of audiences and purposes) are my greatest strengths. I am currently available for part-time freelance opportunities. I am also open to discussing any full-time opportunities that might become available. Thank you for your interest and consideration. - Zeb
