Training/Education Management, Proposal, Academic and Report Writing
As an education manager, I plan and deliver numerous continuing education (professional and competency development) training programmes offered to the general public for the past 13 years. As well as, customize training delivery for entities such as: The Jamaica Defense Force, the Jamaican National Water Commission, the former APM Terminals (Jamaica) Aluminum Partners, Jamaica, and training needs assessment for Sandals Resorts International and Rugby Jamaica Lime, as well as, manage a number of consultancy projects for laboratory tests and analyses. I also have extensive experience in budgeting, proposal and report writing.
Other major highlights of my tenure:
2012-2013: facilitated the restructuring and upgrade of the Computing and Engineering Entrepreneurial Centre to the now Caribbean Sustainable Energy & Innovation Institute.
2005-2006: Project facilitator for the successful implementation of the FIU Masters Programme at UTech
2002-2003: Coordinated the restructuring process of the Engineering Training Centre, to ensure the successful implementation of the new Administrative structure for the establishment of the then Computing & Engineering Extension Centre and restructured programme delivery processes, which resulted in increased student numbers by 66% within one year, by:
• reactivating dormant training programs; developing a more comprehensive schedule of programmes; and effective course promotion
• Successfully negotiated with Aluminum Partners of Jamaica, and APM Terminals to provide customized training for both entities, as a result the Centre was the leader in generating third income stream revenue at UTech for the 2002-2003 Academic Year.
In addition, I was the External Program Coordinator for the Florida International University (FIU) MSc in Engineering Management Program (MSEM), facilitated at the University of Technology, (UTech) Jamaica (2006-2012), which included negotiating agreements with FIU, Course promotion; recruitment, receipts, allocation and remittances to FIU; liaising with FIU personnel in providing oversight for all local aspects of onsite student affairs/services and general program management/delivery.
More recently, I have been engaged in research and academic writing namely: Coordinated the data collection and did the data analysis for the Caribbean Sustainable Energy & Innovation Institute-School of Graduate Studies Research & Entrepreneurship to fulfill UTech’s role as partner for an ACP-EU Edulink CAP4INNO Project, National Needs Analysis Report, Activity 1.1, Jamaica entitled “Knowledge Transfer Capacity Building for Enhanced Energy, Access & Efficiency in the Caribbean.” March-May 2014.
I am also fluent in use of the Microsoft office suit and the Internet; have fair use of electronic social media networking/marketing; fair knowledge and use of electronic data processing (EDP) resources, namely student records systems; fluid use of online content delivery, and electronic leave management systems.
