Most recently, I was a Foreign Teacher at English First, a private language center in Hangzhou, China, and before that I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Peace Corps is a US government organization that sends American volunteers all over the globe to serve in various capacities. I served as an English teacher in public schools in Ukraine for a year and a half before I was evacuated in February of 2014 due to political unrest in the country. I also worked as a language partner during my undergraduate years in a program that taught English to non-traditional adult Saudi Arabian students. Over the course of the last five years, I have had experience working with older adults, university students, and high, middle and elementary students in a TEFL setting. I have also had a variety of cross cultural experiences with Costa Ricans, Saudi Arabians, Chinese citizens, Ukrainians and Russians, and these experiences have helped me to become culturally aware and able to adapt to new situations.
