    Freelance Japanese to English Translator

    United States - Tests: 1

I recently completed my undergraduate degree in psychology and Japanese. My goal is to become a full time Japanese to English translator, eventually advancing my skills in the language far enough to translate academic works. To build my skills for these goals, I have worked on a few volunteer Japanese translation projects, including my personal project of translating "Sanji's Filling Food," a cookbook based on the popular anime series "One Piece," and a group effort that I am currently still a part of, aiming to create a complete translated version of the Japanese video game "Shining Force III." During my junior year of college I lived in Japan for 7 months, during which time I took intensive language classes for 6 weeks, followed by a semester of cultural and economy related, lecture-based classes in the Japanese language. Also while I was there, I completed the Intermediate - Upper (中級 - 上) level of the OPI interview, and passed the JLPT level 3 in July of 2014. I took level 2 of the JLPT in July of 2015 and am currently awaiting results.
