U.S.-based Writer, Editor, Proofreader and More
Thank you for checking my profile. I have been employed full-time in the IT field since 1984 and writing part-time since 2008. Most of my freelance work has been for Yahoo as a contributor, but I also do freelance work through oDesk.
I like to write on a variety of topics. If I do not possess the specific knowledge needed for an assignment, I do the research required to produce the desired content, whether it is for an article, e-book, user manual or other document. I have a degrees in English, Information Technology and Business and am a passionate pet owner (currently dogs and cats). I also enjoy gardening and reading during down-times.
The work I produce is 100% original; I do not "spin" articles - I do true rewrites. If you are seeking a native English-language writer (I was born, raised and educated in the United States, and continue to reside in the U.S.) to develop written content (articles, resumes, e-books, user guides, training guides) that is uniquely written for you, then you should strongly consider hiring me.
I will note upfront that I generally prefer to keep my total freelance hours to about ten hours a week or less (exceptions apply, depending on need), so that I am able to produce a high-quality product. I am employed full-time as a Business Analyst; I ask clients to respect that fact.
That means I typically do my freelance work as follows: weekdays, before heading to work in the morning and in the evening, after I've come home; weekends, throughout the weekend. If you are the type of client who might send an email to me at 9 am on a workday and expect a response immediately, despite knowing that I am at work, then you and I will not be a good fit. On the other hand, if you are the type of client that has a good idea of what you want, understand that I will produce a quality product and that I do not inappropriately bill any employer on time, we will get along well. When I am billing you for my time on your project, I am working on your project.
