Learning and translating all the time.

    Mexico - Portfolio: 1

I was an English and French teacher for over ten years. I worked on academic magazines, as a freelancer, writing on very diverse subjects, from Comunication to Psychology... I love languages, I even met my french husband speaking just French and English, despite the fact that I'm Mexican and my first language is Spanish. I'd love to keep conquering interesting challenges, writing and most of all, learning. Each job, each new employer, represents a challenge, and I think, there's no better way of learning than challenging yourself. These past months working as a freelancer here in elance, I've also refined my skills in SEO and SEO writing. As I've said, I love the journey.

    'Expert English-Spanish Translator', 'Bookkeeper'

    Venezuela - Tests: 3 - Portfolio: 3

My take on translations is based on a quote by Confucius: "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." The reason behind this is that I have always loved overcoming language barriers and translating allows me to do that. That said, I am a 7 years experienced translator, with 2 years as a freelancer, one who is more than capable to deliver perfect English to Spanish as well as Spanish to English translations in a broad range of fields at an affordable price. As a translator I have two rules: 1) No Google translate. This should be obvious, but I think it still needs to be said because I understand that translation machines serve more as a dictionary. 2) No word-by-word translation, because the context is more than likely to get lost and your message will not be understood and it will just sound awkward. I know that choosing a freelancer to do your job is a hard thing to do, but if what you want is a quality translation delivered at your time, look no further, because I am your choice!.

Special Educator, Writer, Children's Lit Nerd

    United States - Tests: 1 - Portfolio: 2

I have both years of professional and volunteer experience with children and years of education and research experience in literature. I thoroughly enjoy combining the two. I have spent years studying the Common Core Learning Standards and differentiation while working with students from fifth to twelfth grades, with a focus in kids with disabilities and recently arrived immigrants in various stages of learning English. My writing has ranged from academic research on 20th century literature to Language Arts worksheets and multiple choice questions for low-level readers. In the excitingly random tradition of budding writers, I've also written fashion articles for KnicksNow.com, website pages for several local Pennsylvanian philanthropies, and what feels like twelve million book blurbs (the actual number is probably closer to 100). Message me! I'm friendly, I speak a few languages, and love to talk to people about books.
