I believe in excellence. Writing isn't about just putting words on paper, it's about expressing ideas. Like any art, the writer has only been successful if the reader sees what he sees, hears what he hears, and feels what he feels. I am an experienced writer with over 180 books published; in addition to my 500+ page web site and 3 blogs. Let's just say, I've been writing for a while. I started writing as an engineer, writing proposals for the company I worked for. As such, my writing had to be clear, concise and answer the questions before they were asked. My writing had to convince the higher-ups in the company to spend money, make changes and believe in what I was saying. When I write, I strive for clarity, simplicity and something that will stir the reader to action. Any subject, no matter how dull it seems, has something in it that can excite; otherwise it would die from apathy. I want to find that thing which excites and express it to others. I have Five general areas in which I consider myself a strong writer. While each of them seem totally separate from each other, they form the structure of who I am, and where I've come from. 2 - Survival and Prepping - I started out as a survivalist as a teen, in the 1970s. That was the latter days of the Cold War and along with some friends, I had plans to head for the Colorado Rockies. Seeing the need, I started studying survival. I guess that just never left me. With the resurgence of interest in survival brought about in the modern prepping movement, I decided that my knowledge was needed. There is too much being written by people who don't know survival, to sell to this niche. When I write about it, it's from the viewpoint of personal experience. When I explain how to do something, it's because I've already done it. 1 - Technical subjects - I'm not talking about product reviews here, I'm talking about engineering technical subjects. As a former engineer, I can grasp technical issues, and explain them in a way that others can grasp what I am saying. Although not normally considered "technical" I must include the building trades amongst this, as I have also been a contractor. If you need "how-to" articles written on the building trades, I can almost do it in my sleep. I find that very few technical people can write well, and very few writers understand technical issues well. I guess that makes me the oddball. Maybe I'm the oddball you need. 2 - Education - I am passionate about the need to educate our children; to bring about reform in our schools; and to bring technology into the classroom. If something isn't done about our educational system, the United States will no longer be able to be world leader, we'll slide back into being a third world country. 3 - Marriage and Family - Amongst my personal writing, there is a fairly large section dealing with marriage, family issues, child raising, and maintaining a healthy marriage relationship. Of my three blogs, one is a daily posting; it is called: "Romantic Act of the Day." Need I say any more? 4 - Christianity and the Bible - Most of the books I have written are for Christians, the Church and teaching about the Bible. I hold a masters degree in Biblical Studies, and an honorary doctorate degree, awarded to me for my writing. No, I don't know it all, I'm just trying to learn it all. I won't say that I can't write about other areas, because I can. I have written a fair amount about business as well. But these four areas are my strengths. The question is, are those the strengths you need?

SEO Specialist & Social Media Consultant

    United States - Last active: 9 days ago - Tests: 6 - Portfolio: 3

My name is Morgan Fraser. My specialties are search engine optimization consulting, social network marketing, and all types of writing and editing. I have a degrees in print journalism and Spanish and have published two wine-pairing cookbooks for niche regions in Washington State. I first learned the basics of online advertising using keyword targeting when I was a sales associate at Zango, where I was on the team of high-spend advertisers and managed more than $450,000 a month in keyword targeted advertising for my clients. Since then, I have learned more about targeted marketing on search engines and social networks through freelance consulting and building my own publishing business for my books. My specialty is a one-time "SEO startup package," which includes the following: *Generate keywords to use in on the site and in other relevant posts on other sites or in directories. *Write, edit or rewrite some of the text on the website to get a better ranking using relevant search terms. *Register the website with Google and Bing/Yahoo! *Add site to DMOZ and other smaller relevant online directories *Implement Google Analytics for more in-depth statistical data on who is visiting the site and when. *Analyze site and come up with a list of recommendations to get more traffic, increase search engine rank and improve user experience. I have more than 6 years experience in the online marketing and writing field, and would love to work with you to better improve your website's visibility and/or user engagement. Below is a recommendation from one of my clients, who found me through word of mouth: "We were delighted to utilize her SEO (Search Engine Optimization) skills, to help place our website higher into Google and other search engines rankings. She accomplished this by evaluating our prior ranking, analyzing our prior use and effectiveness of search engine registries, keywords and metatags, and Google Analytics. She was quick, effective, and reasonably priced. We saw increased sales results after only 3 days of her work, both in the packing department and in Google Analytics graphs. She also recommended generating missing keywords germane to our product line and rewrite some of the text on the site to get better rankings, using relevant search terms. She performed this work, as well as training our office staff in some startup Facebook strategies." As the owner of Nautical Decor Store, I can wholeheartedly recommend Morgan, for any job she puts her heart to, in the writing and internet fields. Please do not hesitate to contact me in regards to similar work you may be considering for Morgan's skills. Sincerely, Scott Tucker Nautical Decor Store

Recognized top 5% oDesk contractors. I have the skills and experience necessary to complete any of the following jobs: complex research, writing, editing, basic websites, business consulting (online marketing strategies for small businesses) or other similar projects. One of my specialties is helping people develop well-written informational content that brings organic and natural traffic to their sites. I provide writing, editing and formatting services for online website content. [Note - if you are trying to view my actual website from my profile, I am in the process of changing hosting providers so my site is temporarily unavailable. As a result, some of the links in my odesk profile many not be working. Just ask if you need to see more work samples and I will get them to you.] I am fortunate to have a gift with writing and truly enjoy it. Over my lifetime I have met many people with brilliant ideas and thoughts who struggle with getting them into writing in a way that effectively conveys the message. I have a passion for helping people take their ideas and putting words on paper so that the ideas can be shared with others. There is a great sense of satisfaction that I get when a client tells me “that’s exactly what I wanted to say!” Although I have not been formally hired as a writer until recently, I have an extensive writing history. I am conscientious and thorough in all that I do, often going above and beyond employer expectations. I have an inner passion for knowledge and answers. If I don't know something, want new information or want to learn how to do something, I do whatever is necessary to find the answers. My preferred jobs are advanced Research and Writing projects that require someone with great attention to detail and an analytical approach to finding information, not just "collecting data." {Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the data collection process, but typically simple research jobs don't pay equivalent to my experience & expertise.} Outside of freelance work as a writer, I provide business consulting, web design and online marketing services for small businesses, "from one small business owner, to another." As an entrepreneur who has been through the struggles of learning how to succeed when resources were limited, I understand what it is like to build a small business from the ground up. My formal training is in Psychology and this background gives me a unique perspective on the world of marketing and behavior. I have been a work-at-home mother since 2002 and absolutely love the freedom that being self employed provides. Let me be upfront - if you are looking for someone to work at "outsourcer rates" or to provide any work that is unethical or "black hat," then I am not that person. But if you are looking for a person who will provide HIGH QUALITY and ORIGINAL work, completed by someone with both an attention to detail and a creative mind, then that's me. I stand by all my work and won't work on anything that I wouldn't be proud to put my name on. As a business consultant, it is my job to Research and Find Solutions for my clients, as well as find information relevant for their business/industry. As a web/internet consultant, with knowledge of how content and keywords affect search engine results, I have a full understanding that there is "much more to be found" beyond the first Google results pages. On the educational level, I have a Master's Degree "plus" in Counseling Psychology from a school that was extremely research oriented, preparing students for Doctoral Programs. Not only did the regular coursework require routine research and report writing, but the program included completion of a Master's Thesis. I also have an undergraduate minor in statistics. Prior to becoming a freelancer, I have over twenty years of experience working with children in social and school settings. My specialty was working with children with emotional and learning disabilities. As the Director of a Youth Shelter, I also have experience supervising and managing teams. In 2002, after 20 years in the corporate world, working full time "plus," I made the decisision to change focus. With these New Priorities I started down the path of being a "work from home mother" (WAHM) and home business owner. "Enjoy Life Enterprises" is the umbrella for all of my entrepreneurial and freelance endeavors. Because I am completely self-employed, I have flexibility in the hours that I can provide, based upon what is required. I am located in the United States (North Carolina) and can be reached by email or if you are US based, we can talk by phone. I have also set up a Skype account if you are outside of the US.
