Writer and Editor
In the past, I've worked as a newspaper reporter—aka “literature in a hurry"—and drafted my share of academic papers: as a PhD student, I’ve had ample practice advancing and rebutting thorny arguments. I've also ghost-written several popular level books, an experience that taught me how to simplify a message and make it accessible to the layperson and expert alike.
My writing philosophy is simple: I believe the written word should combine poetic art form with bare-bones utility. It should connect with the reader simply and clearly and without compromising aesthetics, and without losing its other lyrical qualities. Nor should it obscure its message for the sake of poetry alone: for beauty is not an end in itself, but rather a vehicle for the good and the true. My goal as a writer and editor, therefore, is to help you say what is true by also helping you say it well.
Services I've provided in the past include drafting outlines, writing chapters, honing arguments, editing style and content, and proofreading a text. Let me know how I can best serve you.
