American Medical Writer, Tech Writer and PhD engineer

United States - Last active: 1 month ago - Tests: 2

Hi there, like my title line says I do have a PhD in engineering, but I consider it a mission in life to take the complex and express it in more basic terms. Simply put: I take all those fancy $10 words and replace them with 5 cent words that anyone can understand... while still getting the same point across. I do this quickly and professionally and I can do it for you. So, if it's new writing, engaging blogs, web content, white papers, research papers or pretty much anything else, I am ready and willing to help you capture more readers and improve your business. I did product development for many years with some of the biggest companies in the game like: Johnson and Johnson and Flextronics, but also many others. I understand the ins and outs of the technology space and I am ready to apply these skills to your projects and help you be successful Here's some of my most recently published articles enjoy and thanks for reading. Systems Architect / VMware VCP5.x

United States - Last active: 3 months ago - Tests: 4

As an Enterprise Lead Systems Architect In my most recent job, I was directly responsible for the virtual architecture including but not limited to infrastructure design and deployment of a robust vmware multi-site architecture, the supporting network architecture, modular “siloed” clustered racks, NetApp 2240 and 3240 FAS/SAN systems, remote management and notification systems, and user provisioned lab environment that allowed test teams to provision physical and virtual environments on the fly. All systems were subject to DISA based STIGS and IA scans to verify compliance. As the lead, I directly manage several people on my enterprise team and my efforts touch every person on the project in some way. This interaction has allowed me to create a positive rapport with the entire team while keeping a thumb on several area perspectives. I also manage and assist with the install and design of our SharePoint /Project 2010 integration which upon completion was intended to pull in data from various sources including IBM Jazz Suite, custom built data management systems, and several real world diagnostic and filed measurement tools to display varying aspects of project progress and test data. This effort is still in progress and is coming along nicely. Also support the basic user needs including user account management, file share access and organization, PC issues, software installs and upgrades, and training. Finally, I worked with several integration efforts as an advisory capacity on COTS products that were used in fielded builds and R&D efforts. The infrastructure is comprised of 50+ Racked servers, 18 NetApp products, and several Cisco switches, routers, ASA’s and AirPort WAP’s etc… These resources are grouped in “Silos” and setup to be modular for movement to other sites as needed. I also designed and deployed our domain, complete with multiple DC’s that spread out DNS, DHCP, NTP, and AD with cross site architecture in mind allowing users to move from Lab to Lab with common resources and permission sets. I work directly with the network team and IA team on outward facing services to insure security and threat mitigation. I also run Facebook and Skype classes for the elderly with my company's outreach program. I'm versatile and well tempered and I have a decent network of helpful folks that i can lean on if things get tough. From Teaching to Fixing to Disaster Recovery and Risk Assessment Planning to Recording My Radio voice and Audio Editing Skills.. I have a deep bag of Tools. Let me use them to help you with your next project!

Skilled Patent Searcher and Prior Art Researcher

    Canada - Last active: 06/17/2014 - Tests: 1

My work involves searching prior art and patent databases for inventors, investors and law firms intending to file a patent or patents. This is a good first step for anyone thinking of protecting their intellectual property, looking for investors, or wanting to learn more about their competition. My research covers patent databases, and can also involve non patent literature for an additional cost. I can also search possible investors, collecting contact details, as well as competitors, so you have a full picture of licensing possibilities. Purely focused on providing quality prior art searches while keeping the service affordable for the sole inventor, you can be sure I'm qualified to bring you relevant results. Background experience involves having worked within a patent firm, PhD in physics, Intellectual Property Analyst for Marblar and running my own company that focuses on Prior Art. I've joined ODesk to expand my potential reach and be easy-to-find for possible clients.
