Steijn Pelle (1988) is an energetic, natural-born Dutch entrepreneur and former professional athlete.
In his early twenties Pelle was CEO and co-founder of a fashion-tech start-up Pelliano. This award-winning brand had a simple goal: make it easier for guys to dress up. Enabled by a collection produced on a personal size, an extreme focus at customer service and an own online profile for every gentlemen. By using the leverage of e-commerce and cutting out the wholesale margin, products were offered at a competitive price.
Within 2 years, Pelliano was sold in 11 countries over 120 stores, tens of celebrities wore the products, hundreds of articles about the concept were published and with their own online store they had fans globally. Pelliano won a Dutch Online Shopping Award for its service and innovation thanks to a team of young talents, fashion veterans and collaboration with well-known suppliers.
Steijn loves to stir up entrepreneurship. He was co-founder and CEO of the Young Entrepreneurial Sagamores, a foundation which aims to inspire other young people to start-up a business. In this role he advised the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs on entrepreneurial eco-systems. Pelle was also a member of the Kauffman Scholarship Jury.
Pelle finished a BsC Business Administration (Erasmus University), studied in Russia and at the University of Cambridge (UK).
His perseverance and eternal levels of energy originated as a party-diskjockey and professional athlete.
Pelle was awarded Young Entrepreneur of the Year '12, finalist of the Leading Entrepreneur of the Year Starters Award '13, named one of the most influential people in the Dutch Fashion Industry and belonged to the 15 most innovative e-commerce professionals.
