    Leah Mengarelli

    Writer-Proofreader

    United States - Tests: 2

I am writing in regards to freelance writing or blogging (remote/telecommuting) projects available. I am currently a 5th grade English/Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at Harbour View Elementary. Prior to teaching, my career path was in the field of public relations. I was the Member Relations Coordinator for a local association. In that position, I was responsible for creating and editing all print and online materials released by the association. In addition, I was responsible for recruiting new members, as well as retaining current members through promoting the association's benefits and services. Due to the lack of work in our local marketplace, my career path changed to teaching, but that never changed my passion for writing. This past year, I was published on the front page of our local newspaper regarding an editorial I wrote on excessive testing in education. I received a vast amount of local recognition from that article, and it sparked my interest to pursue freelance writing. With my daughter at an age where I now have more free time on the evenings and weekends, it is a perfect time for me to pursue writing once again. Thank you. Sincerely, Leah Mengarelli

  8. Robert Loggains

    Robert Loggains

Online English, History, and Social Science Tutor

    United States

when I was teaching the Creative Writing class shortly before college I discovered a love for thinking about language and looking over papers. As a tutor I am excited to help with this. I minored in creative writing because I love how language flows and how the different meanings of words can be shifted by small changes in grammar or word choice. I have written recreationally for years and have been writing online since I was fifteen on blogs, forums, and writing communities. I write every day and am a firm believer in that being the best way to advance as a writer. As a Teaching Assistant I led two discussion sections where we discussed the history and application of criminal law in civics, our daily lives, and the politics around us. I have always been interested in society, history, and storytelling which made me excited to lead the discussion groups. Now that I have graduated, teaching and mentoring my students is the part of college that I look back on the fondest. I even miss developing course materials, as planning out the lessons gave me time to think about how the class would go and to prepare questions for students.
