    Theology/Philosophy and Sermon Writer

    United States - Last active: 1 month ago - Tests: 2 - Portfolio: 2

With seven years pastoral experience, a M.Div. and having earned a Ph.D. in systematic theology I am well accustomed to academic writing, particularly in the field of theology and philosophy. With pastoral experience, sermon writing has always been one of my great loves. For a powerful, persuasive sermon with insightful exegesis and theological insight to back it up, hire me! If you need help putting together a theological journal article, and have your overall argument prepared, I can bring it to life. I also enjoy fiction writing--I probably spend most of my "free time" writing stories (fantasy genre, mostly), and would be happy to write a story.

With more than ten years of experience in marketing services, multimedia, and creative design. These and an extensive experience in business and systems analysis and design from IT companies for various enterprise systems. My values and ideals that I incorporate with whatever responsibilities assigned to me is clear. What is the objective? How can I execute it? One must first conceive the job in his or her thoughts. This is how I start. What is the objective or the goal of the task/project? I think of all the responsibilities that need to be accomplished and then set levels of priority. First things first, an organized though starts the ball rolling. With this, you start to gather people and talk about the project. Assign responsibilities evenly and properly, set dates for all deliverables. Depending on the project, if it concerns design or marketing requirements, team members can take part by brainstorming among themselves or perhaps require everybody to come up with their own suggestion as a take home job in order to individually come up with a unique concept that will be discussed and delivered the next day. I am very open to new and innovative ideas and give room for growth. I am very determined in finishing a task required of me. I set my own deadline earlier from the one agreed upon between myself and my superior. My approach is very modern. I like new ideas instead of traditional ones. I am proactive. I initiate tasks that I feel is necessary. I am professional. I can work under pressure while maintaining a good and harmonious relationship with people around me. I am conscious in delivering quality not just quantity in what I produce, in effect I tend to take note on details. When work is at its peak, and result is a success, it becomes a reward or a fuel that will enable me to all the more operate. In the process, it can be fun since it is now part of my system. Ultimately, when you put your best into what you do and believe and envision yourself fulfilling every aspect of it no matter how hard or complicated or big it might seem, as long as you do your job and do it really well is enough and can drive you to do more or to be consistent. The result is indeed, very fulfilling. I believe in ethics, both business and personal ethics. This will serve as a basis or standard on how we are to conduct ourselves in the office and with our relationship with our colleagues. I am more particular in the working attitude of a person rather than the skills or knowledge. Abilities are easily developed and learned while a good character takes time and maturity. I would appreciate one’s humility in admitting lack of knowledge on a certain skill rather than one who knows almost everything yet is boastful and is difficult to get along with. I am honest. I say what I feel and believe what is right in a modest and respectful way. I do not compromise.

Books were my refuge growing up. I love words and etymology and am a book junkie, grammar cop and time management nut! After working in retail management (learning the ins-and-outs of managing multiple departments/employees), corporate America (where I learned scheduling, budgeting and conflict resolution) and non-profit copywriting and editorial management (where I learned content creation, editing, formatting, layout, sponsor solicitation and printing), I founded Write The Vision Publishing, eventually turning that into Book Coach 101. Like most business owners and freelancers, I wear lots of hats. I’ve learned time management, sales and marketing, social media management, project development, contract procurement, presentation solutions and email marketing. Helping aspiring authors write, edit, market and sell their work is a passion of mine. My writing/marketing/editing advice has been featured in numerous print and online magazines and I’m afforded plenty of opportunities to speak on what I do. Some agencies, non-profits and organizations I’ve written, trained and spoken for include: eWomenNetwork, SPAA (Speakers, Publishers & Authors Association), Warner Pacific College (where I’m currently a board member), Southside (net)Working Women, Young Adult Leadership Movement, Women Employed, Women In Leadership, MYSI Corporation, Southern Illinois Ministers Association, The Write Stuff, Leadership Advance Conference, A Gathering of Women Conference, T.O.U.C.H., Little Black Pearl, Sharp Skirts and New Moms Inc. What motivates me is promoting writing, authors and brands I truly love and respect and connecting business women with each other, resources, clients and funding. With more than 20 years' experience in the publishing industry and small business, I’ve had a fulfilling career because I have chosen to do something for a living that I find inspiring. Working for myself and helping to create opportunities for others, I get to spend my days doing what I love!

    Freelance Writer- Biblical Concepts

United States - Last active: 12 days ago

Writing is one of my deepest passions and I have always loved picking up a pen or a computer to do so. To write as a career has always been a dream of mine and I am blessed to be able to do so when given the opportunity. Most of what I have written applies to biblical theology and devotional writing but I do enjoy taking part in some creative writing when given I am able to do so. I have spent a good portion of my life time developing my devotional style of writing and many who have read it have found it inspirational and encouraging. I have also spent a good amount of time developing my general writing style as well and others have found it very appealing and described reading as though I was a fly on the way and have found it very compelling. While my degree is in Biblical Studies I invested time in developing my talent through taking courses or freelance writing. As far as relevant experience, I have had my own blog for over five years and my devotional writing has been published several times on non-profit organizations websites, such as ourdailyjourney.org. I will be self-publishing my first book in a few weeks on Amazon and am in the process of writing a Biblical Historical Fiction Series with my wife that should be ready for printing in the next year. Short stories are another writing avenue that I have enjoyed taking part in over the years. Most of them do not follow the biblical concepts approach I have adopted in my writing career. These have been some of my more imaginative works and when time allows I will be looking to devote more time to writing these stories and eventually getting them published. My biggest goal with my desire to write is to have published works of many different types that will reach others and inspire them to go and do as I have been able to do with whatever dream they may have. I am not looking to become famous or anything, I just want to share my gift with others.
