I am an English/German-Polish translator. I have been working as a part-time freelance translator since 2001 and my goal is to work full time remotely.
My key specialties are:
• Marketing, history, clothing, technical and medical (equipment) texts, culinary arts, tourism, websites
• Proofreading and editing
• Translation of scientific articles in archaeology, anthropology and geology
• Translation of PhD dissertations, for example, “The Nakum Archaeological Project: Investigations on the Banks of the Holmul River, Guatemala”
Not only am I a native speaker of Polish but I also received excellent training during a five-year, full time English language studies and one-year course to become a translator. One of my strongest qualities is my close connection to the English and German language and culture because of an extended period of living in Germany, Canada and the United States of America.
I have participated in numerous archaeological excavations in Poland, Wales, Slovakia and Germany. Four years as International Student and Scholar Services officer at the Wrocław University of Technology, Poland. Work focused upon coordinating Polish and European scholarship programs and organizing conferences, visits, welcoming programs and excursions for the incoming international students and staff. One year as translator with Hotel Reservation Service, Cologne, Germany focusing on translation of the company’s web page. I went on to work for one year as program coordinator with CBI Home Health Agency, Edmonton, Canada. This work involved scheduling and coordinating home health visits and supervising over 40 caregivers.
