    United Kingdom - Last active: 2 days ago - Tests: 20 - Portfolio: 7

I am originally from Canada, and as well as speaking English fluently, I am fully bilingual in Spanish. I have lived, worked and studied for over 20 years in Spain. I have 3 separate skills that I offer on a freelance basis. 1. I am a dedicated education and ESL curriculum writer. I have collaborated in the writing and creation of custom ESL courses, learning websites, worksheets, textbooks, mock exams, apps, etc. I also teach English as a foreign language. I have more than 20 years experience teaching English to children as well as adults. I've also been creating my own ESL worksheets for more than 15 years. 2. I am a qualified and experienced translator. I have over 20 years experience in the translating sector. 3. I am a proofreader and editor. I can provide proofreading in both English and Spanish. The combination of the above skills means that I bring an excellent command of grammar, vocabulary, spelling and punctuation to any English (and/or Spanish) language-related tasks. I am honest, hard working, reliable and accustomed to managing my own workload.

    Adrián Levices Casal

    Freelance translator

    Spain - Last active: 1 month ago - Tests: 2 - Portfolio: 3

My name is Adrián Levices Casal and I am from Chantada, a village located in Lugo. I am translator specialized in audiovisual translation and also in texts related to oenology. Nevertheless, I have experience in many other fields, since I have translated journalistic, legal, economic and administrative texts. In 2010 I got my bachelor degree in Translation and Interpreting by the University of Vigo and afterwards I studied a Master program in Multimedia translation taught by the "Instituto Superior de Estudios Lingüísticos y Traducción" or ISTRAD. Currently, I am taking another Master in Literary Translation also given by ISTRAD. Likewise, I have completed several courses to complement my specialization. On one hand, I finished a course about wine-pairing in the Euroinnova Business School, and on the other hand, my passion for dubbing made me want to know more about "the other side" of the process and how it was putting myself in the shoes of people who perform the texts I translate, so I decided to take a course about speech and voiceover taught by Arondos Formación. I started working as translator in 2011 in Comercial Agrícola Levices, where I had some contact with all related to wines and oenology. As a result, I made several translations for some of the wineries of my region, the Ribera Sacra. Due to I wanted to learn more about this field, I decided to study wine-pairing. At the same time, I began to work in Global voices and in TED, both are non-profitmaking information platforms, where I did translation and subtitling. I learned a lot as translator with these projects and I like to think that I helped giving a voice to these news and ideas that, in general, we never hear about. Currently, I still work together with Global Voices in translation tasks. After completing the course with Arondos, I had a chance, so I became freelancer and I started working in the multimedia field. Since then, I could translate a big amount of series and documentaries, most of them broadcasted by Discovery and Cuatro, such as: Tanked, Salvage Hunters, Bizarre Foods, Food Factory or How it's Made. I also translated a full-length film/documentary about Mohamed Alí, which consisted in a series of interviews made to people close to him that reconstructed the story of this boxer. In any case, and even though this is my specialty, I never let the opportunity of collaborating with other customers go, so I always offer my services in general translation, proofreading and layout.

Student of Chemistry and Comic book artist learner.

Spain - Last active: 3 days ago - Tests: 5

Enthusiastic student of bachelor in Chemistry with B grade results. Since very young I have been drawing and painting my own comics and designs, but I have never published anything due to the little demand in my hometown. I would like to do it someday. Moreover, I have been working in my parent's farm for about 10 years, so I became familiar with animals nutrition and care. One of my hobbies is to teach spanish to foreign people, since I am a native speaker of galician and spanish. I use to do it everyday by Internet in a social web to learn languages. I also love to listen to music and few years ago I made my first steps with guitar but it was not really sucessful. Nowadays I am studying on Erasmus in Warsaw but soon I will come back to Spain to finish my bachelor and specialize in Organic Chemistry. In every project I start I always put a lot of effort, trying to do my best although the topic is not very interesting.

  4. Fernando Mahia Vilas

    Fernando Mahia Vilas

    Writer / Translator

Spain - Last active: 2 days ago - Tests: 2

After getting my degree on Journalism and Mass Media I've worked in some Spanish newspapers (sports and culture sections) and with my partly self-owned web magazine (transgrediendo.com/?author=1), what allows me to offer high profile writing skills in Spanish as well as quick and exact translations to and from both English and Portuguese. Plus since I live on the road (originally from Spain, I've lived in Scotland, Portugal, Wales, USA, Dominican Republic... now Mexico) I'm really into travelling journalism and fiction. I can easily write about any topic within sports, politics, history, culture or traveling since I've worked with them very often. Moreover, the fact that I've been living and working in English speaking countries longer than two years while I was studying the language too gives me a very good knowledge of it.
