Graphic artist - illustration, typography, layout, print design

Illustration, typography, layout, print design, aviation art - those are my specialties in which I can serve you, but I do most types of graphic design.
About my specialties:
I can illustrate for you at any level from sketches to fine art. I care about finding - or creating - just the right font matching the mood and era of the statement you are making. I've done newspaper ad layout, book layout, and all sorts of print design; in fact, I've managed a print shop, so I understand screen-to-print issues, tight deadlines and customer service. I am very interested in accurate detail, especially historical accuracy - I can tell you the difference between a picture from the early 1900s and one that is just sepia-colored. And just try me on my knowledge of aviation - I care about the details of the aircraft I illustrate!
I also do logos, maps, websites, presentations, newsletters, t-shirts, signage, packaging, brochures, proposals, and more. I like designing art for children.
I can use anything from pencil to Adobe Creative Suites 5.5. I love to play with Photoshop and Illustrator, and I've been using them for 17 years each. The computer is a nice tool, but I don't rely on software - I actively design. I understand HTML and CSS, so I can create a look for a site but also sort out problems with the images in the source code.
I can be as creative as my customer wants, but my aim is to get as close as I can to the customer's desires; I'm not trying to see how far I can go. I work for the client, not my own likes and dislikes.
