Journalist, editor, and freelance writer
Wordsmithing is my job, my hobby, and maybe my calling in life.
As a journalist, I write for two nationally award-winning university publications (one of which I also edit for). I also do the odd freelance job for other agencies and publications, both journalistic and literary.
As a hobby, I write anything and everything that comes to mind, from short stories to philosophical musings, political arguments to streams of consciousness; it's the writing that really matters. I also help friends and associates craft their own word projects as well.
As a life calling, I seek to entertain, enlighten, inspire, and above all else inform. Knowledge is the power to transform the world, and no form of knowledge is so versatile and potent as the written - or typed - word. So, I aspire to learn how to use it well.
I also occasionally do layout and design, and I apparently take decent pictures as well. Visual creativity may not be my strongest virtue, but I am still rather fond of it.
