I am a very direct and trustworthy person; I will not waste your time, so I expect you will not waste mine. If you request my services, I will assume you are also aware of my hourly rate; please do not request that I lower it.
WOW! That is too high. Well, not really, considering; I have been a independent contractor for over 10 years. The first year, I was charging much lower rates to become competitive on Odesk. I learned real quick to NEVER set your hourly rate to compete with another contractors. I have a base living salary that must be met; just like everyone else, I need to put food on the table for my family. Running a self-employed business, I have business expenses (Insurance, Contractor's License, Training, Office Space, Utilities, Taxes, etc.) for all of which are considered overhead. These are factored in with my hourly rate, if not, I do not meet my base living salary.
Here is a great document on how I worked out my hourly rate:
I enjoy the work I do and I do my best to be as efficient and as productive as I can while always putting the client's interest before my own financial gains. With that being said, I am a sole contracting firm; I run a very successful local profitable business here in Hawaii.
