Editor, Proofreader, Academic Quality Controller, and Researcher
Although an ordained minister, I also have a passion for editing and proofreading. Freelancing has given me the opportunity to use these skills, and it also led to work in the field of academic quality control. I have earned my professional Copyediting Certificate as well as my Research Methods Certificate. Of the books I have edited, three have gone on to be published.
My ministerial experience (backed by a Master of Theological Studies) lends itself to research, reading, and creative writing. I also spent much of my time editing and proofreading, for myself and colleagues. While theology is my strongest passion, I also enjoy copyediting and proofreading in various genres: academic essays, dissertations, business proposals/plans/correspondence, biographies, resumes, web text, online courses, non-fiction, poetry, and fiction.
Additional skills include writing curriculum, active listening, counseling, computer use (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, email, Facebook, and ACS), management of program staff, budget development and accountability, and congregational leadership.
I also have a Bachelor's degree in Business & Commerce - with a major in accounting - that I put to use in my 10+ years in banking (before entering ministry). My various duties over the years included: teller, proof operator, loan secretary, loan processor, administrative assistant/multinational banking, customer service manager/multinational banking, and manager of 30+ people in loan operations and collateral vault.
