I have worked for over 16 years in the oil & gas industry, mainly in Revenue Distributions. This has given me extensive knowledge/experience in a vast array of areas, including the capability to work well under pressure.
Duties have included assisting Controller in monthly close by reconciling G/L accounts, Bank Statements, assisting with audit requests by KPMG as needed, assisting with close of sale of TN assets, overseeing 3 individuals in my department (Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable/Payroll Clerks), verifying entries made by clerks, oil & gas revenue distributions from Point of Entry through royalty distribution to owners, assisting Controller with Financial Reporting, assisting Vice President with production reporting, assisting Head of General Counsel with production/property reports. I currently use Microsoft Excel 2010 extensively, but have also worked extensively with 2000, 2003, & 2007.
In my role at East Tennessee Consultants, I developed and maintained a database which automatically created monthly revenue distribution entries for exporting to QuickBooks. I was also responsible for networking/troubleshooting/safeguarding 4 computers (including one offsite), as well as daily production entry, invoicing, Accounts Receivable, & Accounts Payable.
The oil & gas industry has its' own unique set of accounting guidelines, unlike any other. It has been said "If you can do oil/gas accounting, you are qualified for any other type of accounting on the market". I tend to agree.
I am currently working towards becoming a Certified Bookkeeper, with plans on obtaining my CPA shortly thereafter.
Put me to work today, and see what I can do for you!
