Elda Di Matteo
web designer, italian translator
I graduated in foreign languages at the University of Pescara, Italy. During my studies I developed a great interest in the linguistic and social aspects of the communication through internet. This was also the subject of my master thesis that gave me the chance to deeply explore the "net life" of community websites, social networks and trendy blogs, facebook, twitter, and so on.
After my studies I worked for 4 years as multilingual helpdesk technician for Nokia global intranet at IBM in Leipzig, Germany. The main task was to provide first line technical support (both via email and on the phone) to Nokia customers worldwide. Thanks to this job I have developed excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure both alone and in an international team environment.
In addition to this, I have been working for years as freelance graphic designer, I have a keen eye for details and a great passion for illustration, design, typography, technology trends, internet and photography. I attended a course in Multimedia Design and the webinars offered by CreativeLive (Seattle) on Adobe CS5. I work on a daily basis with design tools like Illustrator, Indesign, Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, After Effects (Adobe CS6), Cinema 4d, as well as several CMS's (wordpress, joomla, zencart), html and css. I know the most important SEO and social networks tecniques (fan page creation and maintenance, landing pages, groups, twitter customization...) I also have a good knowledge of php and mysql. I am experienced with Mac and Pc.
I also work as freelance translator for IT and gaming websites, i.e. I translated into Italian the items sold by 21diamonds.com, an online company based in Munich.
