Experienced Proposal and Grant Writer

I have the expertise and experience to guide you through the grant writing process. I say "process" because, of course, the writing is only the tip of the iceberg. I'm a professional and responsive consultant. I value communication and partnership on both sides of the fence, including collaboration and timely and complete responses to messages and requests. If this sounds like the kind of working relationship you're looking for then I may be a great fit for your project.
My 7 years experience in formal proposal writing has included researching and responding to RFPs, formulating winning response strategies (good writing is NOT enough), creating follow-up presentations, managing response teams, constructing budgets, liaising with RFP contacts, and thinking out of the box to uncover the insights and creative approaches it takes to win the contract or award. I also handle professional document layout and graphics for those who lack a professional designer, including programs such as Word, Powerpoint, Keynote and inDesign. The look and feel of your grant proposal is one of the things that can immediately set you apart from other applicants.
The kinds of contracts I've secured for clients have included agreements for upwards of $300,000 to even higher value yearly retainerships.
In my 7 years experience pursuing and securing contracts, I've learned what generally sets me apart is the following:
-Strategic thinking: I do more than fill in the blanks. I research the prospect, consider all the elements at play, and construct a strategic response that has literally never failed to get my clients to round 2 of consideration.
-Cooperation: The process needs to be collaborative. I excel at bringing together the thought-leaders and key members of any organization, coordinating their knowledge and expertise into a cohesive and winning response.
-Management: The title "grant writer" is misleading. It's about MUCH more than writing. I manage schedule, requirements, contributors, budgets, and all other moving parts to ensure a flawless and on-time delivery, every time.
-Client relations: I have training and experience in working with potential clients and funders in a way that benefits both parties. At the end of the day, a human being (or many) will be reading and deciding on your contract. I never lose sight of that human element...it is arguably the most important part of the process.
