As a graduate of New York University and a freelance editor, I believe my education, experiences and interests would make me an excellent writer for your publication.
Since leaving the university I have sought out every opportunity to build writing and editing experience. I have written a number of articles across topics (and have samples) as well as devoting a large portion of my time to editing the writing projects (novels, novellas, papers and articles) of my friends, relations and teachers. I worked as a ghost writer and editor on a memoir by Jacklene Russell, copyedited the written content of a new start-up website, Geek N’ Garden, and I continue to work on my own projects while seeking out online grammar tests and courses to stay in practice.
I completed an internship with Dystel and Goderich Literary Management where I was responsible for reviewing incoming manuscripts and passing on promising projects to the agents. Manuscripts that I felt had promise but were not yet recommendable I took the time to edit. Though I did not send these suggestions to the hopeful authors, as it would have been against company policy, I did see it as a good way to practice.
I have also held administrative positions on various writing game websites and my duties have included evaluating a large number of character applications, updating site databases and membership directories, and drafting site constitutions and election protocols.
I would greatly appreciate the chance to work with you. Thank you for your time and consideration.
