    Statistical consultant

    Spain - Tests: 1

Over the last 20 years, I've developed a wide range of tasks about statistical models, including software development, model building and massive data catching and handling. I'm specialized in bayesian models, both dynamic (ARIMA, VECAR, Bass diffusion) and static ones (Probit, Logit, Counting Regression) applied in multiple real world problems like sales forecasting, churning, pricing, quantitative marketing, macroeconomic and commodity forecasting, for dozens of medium and large enterprises in several sectors as telecom, finances, energy, mining, retailing or agriculture. There are some examples Telefónica (ARIMA-Bass hierarchical models to forecast launching of new products) Livraria Cultura ([Brazil] Massive X-ARIMA Models to forecast millions of pairs SKU-store Vale do Rio Doce ([Brazil] Models forecast of iron ore prices) Monsanto ([Brazil] Bayesian model to forecast area planted with winter maize in Parana and Mato Grosso) Coke (Effect of long-term advertising) Bayes (Combination of macroeconomic forecasts) La Voz de Galicia (daily distribution for point of sale and promotional analysis) Banco do Brasil (Demand Cash) Attentive Chile (Charning) Scrapping and storing of world meteorological gridded hourly data and forecast Telefónica (Indexed query language over compressed binary data) Bahía de Bizcaia (Electricity price schedule) Telefónica (Launch anlysis of broadband product Imagenio) TeleSP (Promotions and churning) TeleSP (Brazil) (Application of lines and consumption by type of traffic) Microsoft Business Solutions (forecast sales and product classification of ERP Navision partners) FEDA (Andorra) (hourly consumption and optimization of hydropower resources) Telefónica (Analysis of competition and churning) Mercadona (sales forecast for the optimization of resources) Credit and Surety (macroeconomic model for pricing) CATSA (Canal +, CSD) (forecast calls and optimization of HR for the call center) ENUSA (On-line calculator for statistical functions) Recoletos Group (MARCA) (Sales and promotional analysis) Telefónica (automatic ARIMA modeling of time series) I'm experienced in C++, SQL, R, PHP, Python and I've created the open source programming language TOL (Time Oriented Language)

  5. John Volock

    John Volock

    Computer Scientist and Mathematician

    United States - Tests: 2

In 2012, I finished dual bachelor of science degrees in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. I've spent the past few years doing data analysis and data science on about any subject you can think of in my spare time, along with progressing towards becoming an actuary. In my day to day jobs, I've done everything from building custom website components to integrate services or other items, to building custom coded desktop or matlab applications to process data. My core competencies lie in anything involving data analysis/formatting/science. I'm extremely proficient at Java, Matlab, R, Smalltalk. and any scripting language. I prefer a challenge and to push myself to give the best possible end product, not just a feasible solution.

    Kevin Vogelsang

Challenge Hunter (Technology + Human Behavior + Data)

    United States

***If you know exactly what needs to be done and don't think there's room for improvement on how it's going to be done, or if you consider the project to be easy or not particularly important, do not contact me or bother reading any further.*** I'm looking for interesting challenges that involve humans, computers, and data to test my understanding. I'm currently most interested in data visualization projects and higher level "systems analysis" projects. But, I'm always interested in problems where someone's well-being is affected. (if necessary, My Rate = Base Rate / (interesting-ness * importance)) Since graduating from MIT Engineering in 2009, I have been working a stream of challenging projects: founding startups, building web applications, marketing technical services, and on and on. Overall, I like to focus on answering the question, "how can we design better Systems to get what we want?" And in thinking about this I've amassed a lot of useful skills and knowledge in both software and just understanding how the world works (and doesn't work.) The more uncertainty you have on what needs to be done, the more help I'll be able to be. I'm very likely the most creative guy you'll ever meet, and what I like to do for fun is think and work on challenging problems.
