Modelynn Cher Quidet

Modelynn Quidet is a registered nurse of the Republic of the Philippines. She took up her Bachelors degree in Nursing at Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan--one of the Top 10 Universities in the Philippines. She also took up Business-related units for Management, Marketing and Finance at Cagayan de Oro College (COC-PHINMA), a school supported by Phinma Education Network of Phinma Corporation, an investment firm with interests in property, energy, education and business process outsourcing.
In the year 2008, her essay entitled "A Swing to Renewables" won the first prize during the "5th World Environment Day Essay Writing Contest", sponsored by the United Nations Information Center (Philippines), Hedcor Group, Aboitiz Inc, and 2GO Co. The essay tackled on the role of Renewable Energy in addressing Climate Change. This event made national headlines in ABC and TV5 and a full article was published in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, highlighting the details of the event and the winning article. (Refer below)

Quidet is also into research. In 2007, her study entitled "Chlorine-free Handmade Paper from Musa sapientum (Banana leaves), garnered national awards during the Intel-Philippines Science Fair held at Tagaytay City, Philippines.
As for her writing background, she has won various regional and national awards for Journalism in Grade School and High School. She was also the Feature Editor of her school from High School to College.
Her main advocacy is on raising awareness on Climate Change, her works highlighting the responsibilities of every citizen in gearing towards the resolution of this problem. "I am also a blogger/ guest contributor to blogs and I can write articles of any length, about any topic, at any time," says Quidet.
Her early job experience includes hospital work as a staff nurse of Misamis Occidental Provincial Hospital in Misamis Occidental, Philippines. She also underwent Customer Service training as a company representative for eBay North America and was a product specialist for Telstra, an Australian Telecommunications company, all based in Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines.
"I am a leader, and at the same time a team member. I know the importance of listening in a team and I value loyalty and honesty in my job. I have a keen sense of time management so meeting deadlines is crucial in my work ethic. I try to learn from each job experience and learn from my boss as well, and I am not afraid to voice out my suggestions if I think it can be beneficial for the improvement of the project.
I have traveled to different countries and I have a deep understanding of the cultural differences among my clientele. The world is my stage and so far, I am enjoying the spotlight."-Modelynn Quidet
