I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition and a Master of Science degree in Applied Biological Sciences. My Master's degree work was in the biotechnology field. In 2005 I began teaching at Arizona State University as an Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry and Biochemistry Instructor for Pre-med and Pre-nursing students. I taught Anatomy and Physiology, Human Biology, General Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry and Biochemistry courses both in person, online and hybrid style at various Universities and Colleges until 2012, when I became a stay at home mom. I have created several course curricula, powerpoint presentations, lectures, exams, quizzes and activities related to all of the topics I taught. I look forward to using this knowledge and experience to work from home on projects that can help others seeking to learn about these fields and others. A note about my hourly rate: My hourly rate is variable depending on the type of work that is being asked. I began this account mostly looking for transcription jobs and so, my hourly rate is reflective of that. We can discuss what rate works best for the task when it is presented. I am flexible. Average transcription for the industry is 4 hours work for 1 hour of audio so keep in mind that the hourly rate that I have posted is actually one fourth the rate that would be charged (it takes time to set up the word document, listen to the audio several times for unclear audio, edit for grammar and spelling etc - especially when it is technical material like biology lectures as correct spelling is important and takes a bit longer than something less technical). This means that if you have 1 hour of audio that will take me 4 hours to transcribe - 4 hours of work times my hourly rate of $6.94 an hour means that 1 hour of audio will be at a rate of $25 (not including the ODesk/UpWork fee). This is for clear or mostly clear audio. There will be an adjustment for audio with more than two speakers, or speakers with thicker accents or audio with severe quality problems, focus groups, or a lot of people trying to talk over one another.
