MD Physician-Scientist: teaching and research design/analysis/writing
I'm a Medical Doctor (M.D.) and Physician-Scientist providing expert design, analytic, advisory, regulatory science, writing, and editing services in the realm of medical research, and expert teaching services in the realm of health education. A foundation of what I offer is critical thinking that generates accurate interpretations of the results of investigations of the clinical effectiveness and safety of pharmaceuticals, foods, medical devices, nutraceuticals, or surgical interventions.
My background is that of a U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) awarded clinical scientist and medical writer, a U.S. National Institutes of Health awarded Principal Research Investigator and grant writer, and a physician (allopathic) who is board certified in Clinical Pharmacology (American Board of Clinical Pharmacology).
The FDA gave me Performance Awards, Special Act Awards, and the Group Recognition Award during a decade of labors there. They designated me an expert at improving the designs of clinical trials and evaluating and writing about the research industry's claims regarding the effectiveness and safety of new clinical therapeutic and diagnostic technologies. I served on, and was chairman of a committee of, an FDA Task Force that both articulated evidentiary standards for the effectiveness of new technologies and published a guidance for the industry entitled, "Providing Clinical Evidence of Effectiveness for Human Drug and Biological Products".
The U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) invested numerous dollars into research in which I was the grant writer and editor, the experiment's designer, and the Principal Investigator. I succeeded to attract those funds amidst nation-wide competition and in so doing won the NIH's Physician Scientist Award.
A fluent native English speaker, I cared for patients in a university hospital's clinic, sat on a U.S. medical school's faculty, earned additional research grants, and published in clinical and scientific journals.
The expert services I provide come in four main categories: 1) teaching about matters of health or healthcare, 2) critical thinking over medical research designs and results, 3) medical writing of teachings or research reports, and 4) medical editing (including copy editing) of teachings or research reports.
My writing for academic or regulatory audiences is in the technical style that persuades by means of formal argument based on critical thinking. When instead reaching out to healthcare consumers I rely on my skills at conversational writing that's simple, understandable and motivating.
My clients are saying about me: "provided an amazing result"... "great work!"..."delivered beyond my expectations"... "an excellent choice"... "this is exactly what I was looking for"... “I'm very satisfied"... "He is very efficient”... "responds quickly"... "Very professional, thorough"... "very knowledgeable"... "We'd use his service again"..."we will work together on upcoming projects".
For projects involving public service, geriatric medicine, pediatric medicine, and other especially good causes I am willing to consider deeply discounting my fee for services, and even providing less involved efforts (such as copy editing) to simply lend a hand. So feel free to negotiate along those lines.
