As my resume indicates, I possess more than 6 years of progressive experience in the Business support field. My professional history includes positions such as Bid Support Manager at IBM Shared Service Center as well as HR Associate at Roche Services Ltd. which all contained interaction with people. During my time with IBM as a L1 Approver I had the opportunity to provide quality/compliance type of support in assisting the sellers in achieving the desired customer satisfaction. My tasks included: - Based on the bid request I had to determine the process required and check if it was applied correctly otherwise I had to return the bid - If the bid was sent in through an inside sales person I also had to check the customer’s ability to pay through a Credit Check request and if the total contract value of the bid requested was approved by the credit department I moved on with the bid check - Some customers depending on the country of origin may have also required a Denied Parties List check to determine if they were or not on the embargo list - Some requests also required that the customer’s site had to be checked to determine what type of licenses they have purchased previously from IBM, if they were renewed after they have expired (a license was for 1 year and included maintenance for the same period) - if they have become obsolete I had to check for a replacement part and sell that one - if they wanted to renew I had to check whether the renewal was taking place at the right time, no lapses as that required a more expensive part to be sold which had a higher price and that included a punishment fee for the lapsed time - Also these renewals had to contain a minimum 3% increase yearly otherwise the bid was rejected - I had to check the reason provided by the seller for the discount requested - Based on the requested discount and the procedure related to it I had to check whether all the required supports were attached to the bid from the required people across the world (like Brand Managers, Dealmakers, Play supporter, Pricers and other managers World Wide) and also it was very important that the request contained exactly the details of the bid in order for the support to be 100% aware of the request - If the discount was high sometimes I had to ask for a review from a higher manager as well - Some bids were contract application which meant that the customer had a deal signed some time ago with IBM and now they wanted to purchase the licenses, renewals or reinstatements based on the prices agreed in the contract. My task was to make sure that the bid is matching the contract 100% including the required supports - There was also a database with preapproved contract types which contained different scenarios for different licenses with different discounts and the sellers could apply these if they matched the customer request. In these case I had to make sure again that the bid requested was matching the preapproved contract 100% as well as the support from the required manager - These processes were different based on countries, each country had their own request how these bids should be processed, some were more strict which required more rigorous checks - After 1 year of working within this team I was appointed as a quality checker as well, which meant that I had to check my colleagues’ bids to see if they have followed the process correctly, determine the area of mistakes, which types were more frequent and deliver these details to the management based on which trainings were held to the team - Also around this time I was appointed a CEEMEA Process Focal, which meant that I had to keep in contact with the Pricers from the CEEMEA countries on regular telephone calls, where the processes were discussed, updated if necessary, simplified where the case was or changed based on the requirement of the country in question. These I had to feedback my team regularly as well as I was an master of these processes so my team could always turn to me with their questions or when explanations were required - I was also appointed a Platform focal, which was a license type IBM had purchased and I was basically a focal for the process related to this license World Wide
