Maxine Frost, illustrator/broadcaster/voice talent
Last active: 02/25/2014
I am a freelance illustrator and cartoonist with credits in Classical Guitar Magazine and Hamburger Abendblatt. My work was exhibited in Berlin at CARTOONAGE 2013. I am interested in the way facial expression and anatomy can reveal character and tell a story. I'm also a broadcaster and voice talent with a range of projects under my belt.
My last job was at a classical music radio station in Seattle, where I had the opportunity to use art to enhance the station's on-air product and branding efforts. My illustration of Beethoven for Public Radio Music Month was shared widely on Facebook and featured on NPR's music blog this past Spring. I also wrote commercial and promotional copy, contributed to web content, massaged social media, did event appearances, and interviewed a range of music artists and writers - Yefim Bronfman, Pinchas Zukerman, Gerard Schwarz, Vladimir Spivakov, Joshua Bell, Leif Ove Andsnes, Renee Fleming, Martin Amis, Richard Ford, and others.
Other radio skills include talk show hosting, production, audio editing, interviewing, writing and blogging. As a voice talent I was the exclusive voice of Dosha Salon Spa in Portland, Oregon, and I have extensive experience doing on-hold messaging for a range of nationwide clients.
I'm conversant in social media and promotional strategy for radio marketing. I played a role in tripling Facebook reach over a 24-month period for my last employer. I'm a writer whose commercial and promotional copy is conversational, relatable, and a bit sassy.
