Web & Cloud software engineer (ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, Azure)
Hi, my name is Alex and I specialize on web and cloud applications based mainly on the Microsoft technology stack: ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET WebAPI, C#, SQL Server and Azure (IaaS and PaaS offerings, blobs, queues, DocumentDB, Azure Search, etc, etc).
I can work both remotely and on-site; the latter option needs discussion. Travel and relocation are fine to me, too.
A short story about me.
I was born in the city of St.-Petersburg, Russia in 1983. I started developing commercial software for Microsoft's platform in 2002. First I worked as a free-lance developer creating websites for clients all over the world. In 2004 I co-founded a software development house AW/Systems which did the same but in a greater scale.
We created software (not just websites) for clients from various industries: finance, legal, medical and others. Among all, we also had been developing and maintaining a system for the notorious investment bank, Lehman Brothers. However, I don't believe that we somehow caused its crash.
I exited that business in 2008 and since 2009 I worked as an officer (CTO, COO) at a number of internet ventures in entertainment and new media industries. I also worked at Russian subsidiary of a huge pharmaceuticals corporation, Sanofi Aventis, as a IT and Digital project manager where I led the development of a number of live-saving services for people with diabetes.
My most recent permanent workplace was at an intellectual property protection startup (OnlinePatent.org) where I was responsible for backend and front-end architecture, payment processing, a big chunk of client's UI, data access and business logic layers. Technically, it is a big ASP.NET/C#/SQL Server/Azure application consisting of 25 individual Visual Studio.Net projects and 50+ SQL Server tables (+ NoSQL data storage mechanisms).
Last year I moved to Belgrade, Serbia where it is much warmer and safer than in Moscow and where one can enjoy so many marvelous and at the same time inexpensive restaurants :) That is why I returned to free-lance work. So drop me a line: I will be happy to contribute to the success of your web/cloud application!
