I'm describing my last three positions here in this email so that you are better able to make a judgement on whether or not to hire my services. If you have any questions / need references or clarifications feel free to let me know. Active Capital IT / ARTSTOR:- ARTstor is a non-profit organization that builds and distributes the Digital Library, an online resource of 1.5 million images in the arts, architecture, humanities, and sciences, and Shared Shelf, a Web-based cataloging and image management software service that allows institutions to catalog, edit, store, and share local collections. I’m a Group Lead here, ... which means that I manage a team of 15 engineers directly in our Karachi office and indirectly manage a team of 15 more engineers in the Islamabad office. My job is currently part architecture, part systems and deployment and part management, which make me a well-rounded technology leader with a broad view of things. I am still a hands on developer and I personally develop and maintain a lot of the Digital Asset Storage tools at shared shelf described here: http://www.artstor.org/shared-shelf/s-html/features.shtml and so I’m well versed in developing and maintaining huge media management systems that can handle huge amounts of data with great reliability and support various kinds of metadata. One of the tools developed at Active Capital IT is EMET which is a tool for metadata extraction from Jpeg & Tiff files. Its open source and available at the following link:http://www.artstor.org/global/g-html/download-emet-public.html Pring / E-Business Pring is a web and mobile-based social network with a user-base of over 4.5 million people, which is growing daily. It is a refined and secure platform where anyone, with any kind of mobile phone can connect with friends and family, exchange ideas, form communities, share content or talk one-on-one with celebrities and brands. I was one of the founding members at Pring whose backend systems, I overlooked as an engineering lead from its infancy until the end of 2009 where I switched jobs. An interview I gave on Pring to Aurora Magazine (Dawn Media Group) is featured here.http://auroramag.wordpress.com/2012/12/19/pring-for-success/ Pring was my first experience of working at a Pakistani Social Media Startup that attained critical mass and is now being utilized by various brands for their marketing efforts. Numerous accounts are available on Prings Blog: http://blog.pringit.com/ Bytesense Bytesense was a software company where I worked prior to pring. It was a company that was dissolved and the exact same team moved over to pring. Most of the work done for Bytesense was work for hire and we worked on some interesting products ranging from games such as http://varheroes.com/ to social networking sites such ashttp://www.hourmarkets.com/ and various Telecom VAS Solutions.
