We found Ron's work excellent, however, we experienced two issues with Ron. The first is why I didn't assign high stars for availability and deadlines. He agreed to complete a job for me and, then in the middle of the job, I all of a sudden received notice from him that he was quitting the job with no explanation. I inquired as to the problem and subsequently received the following "What happened was completely on my end and has nothing at all to do with you or your interaction with me; no friction in other words.....Because I cannot complete your job, thereby causing you problems, I would never be so bold as to expect or ask for future work." Because I really liked his work and because I am a kind person and like to give people another chance, I hired Ron again. At completion of the most recent job, Ron forwarded to me an invoice. Due to the busy nature of my business and travel schedule, I was unable to respond immediately to his invoice inquiries. However, ONLY 9 DAYS PASSED (less than a week and a half) and I received a scathing email in which he made the following threat to blacklist me in the writing community because I did not respond to his email immediately. "At the end of that time I will be forced to take the time to make things as unpleasant for you and your business as time makes possible. I will do this by contacting every writer's site I belong to, and can locate and warn the sites and the writers working there about your nonpayment conduct. I will also contact the Better Business Bureau, the IRS and the National Labor Relations Board to report your business as risky for employees and clients. Finally, I will contact the clients whose projects I worked on and tell them that you are hiring people to work on their projects and then not rendering payment." I share this because there is not a single vendor I have worked with on ODesk - or elsewhere - that has not received payment by me. I am proud of the great relationship I have with my vendors and have had it for many years. Quite frankly, my clients LOVE me and even if Ron called them, they wouldn't have believed him because I am known as a very trustworthy person. If a really long period of time or an excessive number of weeks had gone by, I might understand someone getting this upset, but only a few days had passed, so I find it disappointing that I would receive such a nasty correspondence. His response seemed to me to be an over-reaction.
