Layout book and ENHANCED ebooks“The worst design process I have ever experienced. I have overseen hundreds of design jobs through my career, of course there are always bumps and errors on both sides - but this was shockingly bad. The 10 most jaw droppingly unprofessional moments of my career all happened on this job... details below.1. There were AT LEAST 100 rounds of unnecessary revisions due to contractor errors, not following the instructions, or sloppy work.2. I would send (for example) 5 things needing revision. 2 would be done, 3 missed, and new errors appearing for no reason.3. After the 100+ rounds of errors on the print book, we submit it to the printer to find he has not followed the templates provided at the start - so we had to go revise all AGAIN - several times.4. Poor communication (not based on english level). Single word responses. Not explaining options or alternatives.5. Basic and amateur mistakes, again and again - things a beginner would notice - he kept missing.6. On application he indicated had extensive experience making ebooks and enhanced ebooks. Once we were in the 20+ round of errors, he admitted he had not done many before.7. After a monthly of wasted work on the print book, having someone ELSE complete it to standard, then we moved onto the ebook.8. After sending me the ebooks for the 10th time, still COMPLETELY wrong, images and text laid out wrong, alignment and pagination off on every page, I told him "The file is sloppy and amateur standard". At this point he quit the job, he quit - "since you have all the files that you need, it's up if you're gonna pay me or not. I'm not liking the way you are treating me.." Then began emailing me to ask how soon I would pay him. (Note. I paid in full, despite having to hire yet another designer to complete the job - to make sure I have the chance to leave this feedback).I was going to give 3/4 stars for cooperation and adherence to schedule - as he did try - but seeing every attempt was full of errors - the cooperation and schedule were out the window.Nice guy, he did try, and I don't like to leave such harsh feedback as no doubt this is his livelihood. BUT it is also my job, and the hundreds of hours of wasted time and overall terrible experience need to be shared with the community.”
Client information sheet“Initially I was very pleased with quality of the work and I am sure she has the skills and the ability to complete the task. But she did not do work in a timely manner and communication was extremely poor. I cant wait any longer and will have to get someone else to finish the job and start again and pay someone else.”
