For the last 8+ years, I have worked with Java ... moreand SQL to build enterprise web applications. I have used a diverse set of tools for user interfaces, action frameworks, databases, scripting and source code control. I recently completed a contract at Food Logiq to enable a web application to interact with an SAP accounting system. The web application could gather data related to individual line items in a purchase order. Coding was in Vaadin framework along with JAXB XML parser. Another recent contract was with Houghton Associates, working with an airport simulator to provide User Interface functions (in Java Swing) and to produce analysis and reports on simulation runs. Before that, I was a regular employee on a multi-year project for IBM's CIO for tracking and evaluating corporate initiatives and projects, combining ETL with Business Intelligence. This resulted in a web site with over 25 custom web pages for entering data for various internal customers. We had data gathering (custom ETL), pulling and combining data from various sources, then reporting in multiple formats (eg, Dashboards, Scorecards, PDF files, spreadsheets). I was active in all phases of definition and development, along with leading a team of developers in China. I submitted two patents and previously developed a search engine for the PC Company's global eSupport site. Before IBM, I worked as a consultant on a handful of desktop and database applications for several RTP companies. My academic background includes expert systems, artificial intelligence and robotics. I am proficient in Java, J2EE, Perl, Python, C, HTML, XML, Javascript and various open source packages. less
