Experienced, meticulous proofreader

I am a perfectionist English proofreader with a wealth of experience in a wide range of material, including fiction and non-fiction books, articles, web copy, and - in particular - academic papers such as theses and dissertations. I work with both native speakers, and those for whom English is their second language. I am passionate about the written word and helping to create text which is fluent, clear, and a pleasure to read. Proofreading is, by necessity, slow and meticulous work, and I never 'cut corners', get software packages to do the work for me, or speed-read scripts. Over the years, I have also acquired strong copy-editing skills; I routinely check for inconsistency, unnecessary repetition, contradiction, or shifts in style. Throughout the editing process, however,I remain sensitive at all times to the 'voice' and intention of the author. In brief: I am reliable, communicative, skilled and dedicated - and have never yet missed a deadline!
